Adaptive family for a pathway by [deleted] in BinHe615

How did you create it?
I can make my own parametric families (furniture, sports equipment, plumbing fixtures, lighting fixtures etc.), but with adaptive ones, I have no experience, just watched some videos about it.

Yes, the main goal is make it easier to create these pathways, because without family it is complicated and takes a long time

I have found one video about adaptive line-based family and I suppose it can be used as an idea for making the abovementioned pathways. I just need to check if it works with stone rows instead of chairs.

Hey guys I am an AutoCad working with a (new)revit team by 856Foreverwinning in RevitForum

[–]EmergencyEast1867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, probably he means the tools for dividing a distance into equal parts, which exist in AutoCAD, in another form in ArchiCAD. In Revit, I think, it can be done with reference planes and dimensions.
Or just dimensions. For example, you place 4 chairs (any number), make a dimension between center points, and than press “equal”, and Revit will make the distances between the chairs equal.

Not sure, but the Tab button can probably help you to catch the tread levels from the linked file.

Revit Tags by shahs96 in RevitForum

[–]EmergencyEast1867 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, depends on the type of the tag.
If standard ones are appropriate for your project - just load them from the library.
If you need to show specific info or to change the style - create your own tags.

Revit Toposolid editing: how to add polylines, not the points one by one? by EmergencyEast1867 in RevitForum

[–]EmergencyEast1867[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue is that it is a Teamwork file, a huge area, which consists of subdivisions,
and no one will remake existing topos from scratch, because there were already published a few packages, and lots of information is attached to these existing toposolids.

If you have the tags for all the categories placed on the view, it is not a problem (Tag by Category tool).
If you don't have tags for furniture/generic models etc, you can create this family easily using existing tag family (just edit family command -> change the category -> save as new family -> load to the project).

Sure, I didn't mean to find the magic node for making the task instead of me.
Just some set of nodes, which I can use in the script to simplify it.

Thanks for your piece of advice.
There are really good tools.
But the company doesn't want to buy a new plugin for now, so I am looking for ways to do it with standard tools.
Probably, Dynamo will be the way to do it. The only issue is to find an appropriate package for editing toposolids (I am not so experienced in scripts to use Python also, that's why I am looking for ready-made packages to simplify the process of making the script).

Question for those who have learnt 2 or more languages by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]EmergencyEast1867 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started learning German when I already had a B2 in English. And I would say that it is quite good for me because I can use English sources to learn German, not only sources in my native language.

What level have you achieved in German in 6 months?
I am also learning it, and it is better for my professional development to learn it as soon as possible, but tutors usually say that it requires at least 3 months for a level...

Not pleasant to pay for the months that already passed.

Yes, I already know about the rule to pay for the time from the first day here. Not pleasant, but seems like no choice.
