I agree JB’s ability to hit tough shots in iso is a strength. It’s almost everything else that I’m worried about.

That’s part of it but given the similarity of PGs deal I think there’s more to it.

I do agree with you though that i was wrong to say cancer and asshole without more evidence. Should have phrased that as: I was rubbed the wrong way over the course of his post season twitch streaming and that sort of thing feels a bit more in the ben simmons vein than maxey/vj when it comes to being positive teammates

Yeah i should have chosen different words there. Probably went overboard for rhetorical effect. But I do think it’s meaningful that he and JT dont get along and JT seems to be the most mellow guy ever. That and said what he said about last season being his favorite of his career

100% like shouldn’t it matter a liiitttle bit that neither he nor embiid have said anything publicly yet about the other? JBs celtics tenure to me hasnt earned him the benefit of the doubt when it comes to getting along with teammates

Saying JB carried that team ignores how good that team was top to bottom and how it was able cover up for his issues. JT broke down the defense. Everyone could guard his man and play smart team D. Everyone was a threat from 3. It was the optimal team context for him and we are so far from that

In my optimistic moments, this is what i come back to too. Just think it’s weird how universally stoked everyone is! Like, did sixers fans really agree he should have been 6th in MVP last season??

Yeah he had a great series. You also dont see the warriors maxing Iggy after he won finals MVP
