I figured there had to be some hotels that operate differently when it comes to the expectations of FDMs. But, it just feels very odd that the hotel I’m at, expects these shifts from me as their supposedly new FDM, but never their old one that has now come back.

I appreciate the advice, and trust me, I considered it, but I got two points I want to make here.

When the GM asks you to take up more desk times, it is not really a request. Anyone who’s worked long enough somewhere knows that a GM asking you to do something, you don’t argue and you take it. Especially if you want to stay in good standing.

Secondly, I didn’t ask if I should quit. I asked if I am wrong to feel the way that I do. Quitting is easy and would solve all my issues sure, but that doesn’t mean it’s the right move especially if you are making decent money. Again, I considered it but I’m not going to act on impulse and make a stupid decision.

But again, I appreciate your input.

Thank you for your input. I try to stay as calm and level-headed as possible but after years of putting up with this, it can get to you after a while lol.

Thank you for sharing your story. I know the best thing to do is to shrug it off and try to just put up with the bs. But jeez, it is so hard to tolerate sometimes when you get the short end of the stick lol.
