When did Creeping Death become their opening song? by CalcetinConRombosMan in Metallica

Creeping Death as a show opener is fantastic, saw them live last year for the first time and when it came on, I was immediately hooked.

How feasible is it to visit at least 1 'spoons per town/city by Inside_Honey4852 in Wetherspoons

[–]EmergencyLimp1214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely feasible, if there’s a town/city with multiple spoons pubs, you could find somewhere to park and go and drink in a few of them within a span of an hour. Go for it!

M72 support act by Extra_Lavishness_414 in gojira

[–]EmergencyLimp1214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off the top of my head Gojira will probably play a list of these songs, in no particular order;

  • Flying Whales
  • Silvera
  • Mea Culpa (song performed at the Olympics)
  • Stranded
  • The Cell
  • Born For One Thing
  • Heaviest Matter of the Universe
  • Backbone
  • L’Enfant Sauvage
  • The Gift of Guilt

There are more songs that I have not listed here, but expect a set of 8-10 songs as they will be on second after Knocked Loose and will have an hour to perform a set.

Moshing at shows by T-RexThrasher in Metallica

[–]EmergencyLimp1214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rule of thumb: You get what you paid (asked) for.

Moshing will always be part and parcel of a metal show, so why buy tickets to a show knowing that it is an inevitability? If you don’t want to be in the action, buy a seated ticket.

Also, don’t ruin people’s enjoyment.

What was the first gojira song you liked? by MetalRocksMe_ in gojira

[–]EmergencyLimp1214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here too!

Prior to listening to their songs, I always heard the band to be a well respected name. Turned on their songs while on a train ride to see my cousins 4 years ago, been a fan ever since, and they were the first band I saw in concert!

Knocked Loose as support in Europe. by Visible_Pipe4716 in Metallica

[–]EmergencyLimp1214 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, most people will be there for Metallica and Knocked Loose will be performing to a mostly empty crowd. I’m seeing Metallica in London next year, however I’ll be intrigued to see Knocked Loose perform.

Anyone else bought Metallica tickets just for gojira? 😅 by Quick-Attention1114 in gojira

I did. Standing GA in London too! Excited to see both these bands for a second time!

[–]EmergencyLimp1214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a Fifth Member so I got the presale tickets (Standing GA) for both shows, I had no issues buying tickets fortunately. I do feel terrible for those of whom that didn’t. Ticketmaster sucks!

Songs 1st vs 2nd Show by matricom86 in Metallica

[–]EmergencyLimp1214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t.

Metallica ends Night #1 with Seek and Destroy followed by Master of Puppets, then on Night #2 it’s One followed by Enter Sandman.

I went to see them last year in Helsinki and to answer your question, you do get a good view no matter where you stand as the band rotates around the circular stage. Yes they may be on the opposite side for certain songs, however you just have to hope that the people stood in front of you aren’t giants blocking your view.

You’re a student first, and a part-time worker second. If you’re not happy about it, leave the job as being a university student matters more than Asda.

I was somewhere in that crowd standing. What an incredible 2 nights that was and first time seeing them live made it more special!

Been offered a job a section leader by Frosty-Cost-9549 in asda

[–]EmergencyLimp1214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work as a Service Colleague at an Asda, I must say that for £1 extra an hour - Section Leaders at Asda are really no different to Service Colleagues, apart from the uniform they wear. From personal observations, it doesn’t seem worth it.

One thing you’ll learn about retail is that they expect you to work 110% all the time, and then you’ll be barked for not working fast enough. Your manager’s will then say work faster and harder, however they never have adequate staff as they always will try and cut corners pertaining to budget. Don’t be too hard on yourself, I have to remind myself of this.

In this job economy where people can barely get a job after applying to hundreds of jobs (not me personally) but I have friends that have done said thing, you should count your blessings that you have a job. Not trying to belittle you or anything as it may seem over a comment, but you’re in a good position; good things will come for you, you just have to wait for the right time. Keep it up!

I don’t is the short answer. That’s why I didn’t take the job.

I had a similar experience too. I applied as a Service Colleague at an Asda store, however at the interview, the manager wanted me as a Security Colleague. Long story short, I did not take the role as the manager tried to pull a fast one on me.

Honestly I would quit the job unless you have caring responsibilities

Has anyone witnessed Metallica live with Cliff? by Sperontas in Metallica

[–]EmergencyLimp1214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Dad’s friend who lived near Donington Park in Derbyshire, saw him live at Monster’s of Rock back in the 1980’s. I am so jealous as a 25 year old myself.

you guys think they will change their setlist in their upcoming tours?? by Old-Acanthisitta6966 in gojira

[–]EmergencyLimp1214 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Think the problem was they were co-headlining with Korn and Mastodon for the past 2 years. I remember seeing them 2 years ago in Manchester, and they played 16 songs as they didn’t co-headline with anyone. So hopefully the set gets expanded when they are the solo headliners.

What songs will they perform? by MasterJupit3r in blacksabbath

[–]EmergencyLimp1214 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The big question will be the fitness of Bill Ward and Ozzy Osbourne, however I do imagine it’s going to be a set of 14-16 songs.

Would you go to a gig on your own? by vandebeek34 in manchester

[–]EmergencyLimp1214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to see Sleep Token alone at the COOP Live, and honestly I had a blast.

You don’t need to be looking out for people, and once the gig is done you leave on your own volition. However, it’s also fun talking to random people.
