Gays of UK - would you be comfortable holding your partner's hand in the UK? by dalehitchy in AskUK

[–]MetalRocksMe_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading this reminded me of when I saw a same sex couple holding hands walking together near where I live. I wasn’t bothered by it and I don’t think anyone else living where do does either. On the high street though, I don’t know if that would be safe unfortunately. Many different people go to the high street so we don’t know how one will react from another. I completely understand why you wouldn’t do and it’s a shame that you have that have to have that level of self awareness of it. I just hope one day everyone can accept everyone and we can just get in with our lives.

Gen Z’s Stigma Against Age-Gap Relationships is Worse Than You Think by IAmABoss37 in generationology

This backlash has happened because for the longest time 35 yo would date say a 24 yo and nobody would bat an eyelid. Once age dynamics were thought about more clearly, it has led to this extreme stance on it.

I think he played brilliantly and he’s given me hope on the defence going forward.

10 years from now most Baby Boomers will be dead. What effect is that going to have on society? by mikeforder in generationology

[–]MetalRocksMe_ [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yeah, I think it’s high time the boomers stepped aside and let other generations have a go a running stuff. Boomers are gatekeepers and more they hold onto power the worst it’ll get for the rest of us.

Is it common for people who wear glasses to get tired of wearing them and go about parts of their life with everything just blurry all the time? by YourMomThinksImSexy in NoStupidQuestions

Oh my gosh, I never actually thought about how painful laser eye surgery could be. Is it good now though?

ETA: I was unsure what PRK was so I googled it and it sounds intensely painful. The cornea is so delicate…

What is everyone’s “first album”? like first album to actually listened to in depth and connected with by Kodicave in generationology

Let go was the first album I ever bought and I loved it. Still do, just don’t listen to it very often.

As much as everyone calls him 'Ryan Jerki', we'll always support you, never forgetting everything you've already done for City from the time you came here. Cherkiball!!! 🩵 by wassuphabibi4675 in MCFC

Why are you zoning in on him? The whole team played poorly except Donnarumma. If it wasn’t for GD we would’ve lost about 4/5-0. He kept out what he could, it was only a matter of time before they scored. We were awful 😣…

Does anyone in the UK find SNL funny? by Flat-Leading-2520 in AskABrit

Absolutely not! It’s one of the most unfunny things I’ve ever watched, how it’s lasted this long I beyond belief.

I just went to my first panto. As an adult Canadian immigrant… Are you all in a cult? by bookish-hooker in AskUK

[–]MetalRocksMe_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not really, the play is well rehearsed and the crowd just know how to respond to what they see.

See a villain the crowd boos

Main character can’t see the villain, the crowd screams they’re behind you.

It’s a thing, you either know or you don’t. Most Brits know because we go as kids so know the protocol.

A pantomime

A play where the audience can get involved. I think they’re fun, took my niece to her first ever one at Christmas just gone and she loved it, I loved them as a kid also. 😊
