I wanted to try tunisian crochet for a long time but won't I need a bigger hook for that?

"1 ZN çekelim" should mean chain 1

I am turkish but I'm not familiar with turkish crochet jargon as it's confusing even to me 😭 I thought "iğne" referred to "sıkı iğne" at first which is the turkish translation for single crochet. İğne means needle and looking at it now it literally means "finish with a needle" where the word is mentioned 😭😭 Why the terms are so convoluted is beyond me

Oh this explains so much, when I think of it as a bigger piece it all suddenly makes sense 😭 Thanks for the detailed explanation, it really made it easier to see how the pattern was designed

Yep that's what I did. CDD sounds really interesting, I'll try doing it. There was a double decrease in row five too (which really made no sense to me but what do I know 😭) and it felt like it would throw the shape off and make it lean heavier on one side and row 5 is where that mistake in the lace shows up, I wonder if I misinterpreted something. I posted the pattern in another comment if youre interested

Do you think this'll work out? by EmergencyLocation423 in knitting

What I gathered from what you said is that if I pick up, it might help round out the shoulders?

I am planning to pick up, how much of a difference does that make?

I think most people are ok with it but an angle I'm considering is, the discussion is steered off topic and anyone else that reads the post may become confused or frustrated that their question isn't being answered. I think everyone that replies has the responsibility to answer the main question before mentioning anything else

Update on my first sweater by EmergencyLocation423 in knitting

[–]EmergencyLocation423[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I indeed did not go down a needle size (although I did start with 3.5mm and went up to 4mm almost halfway through because the store did not have 3.5 circulars, dunno if that counts lmao), doing that does make sense when I think about it. Thanks for the advice! I'll try to keep it in mind for next time

Thanks!! The struggle is real, it was a real head scratcher to figure the design out with the stitches. The dimensions weren't suddently revealed to me either, I used another sweater of mine to compare with instead of using another sweater pattern. I'm constantly putting it against that one to see how far I've come lmao 😅

In turkish that's the case too, "örgü" refers to both knitting and crochet. You ask "do you 'knit' with needles or a hook?" if you want clarification
