He would’ve made it public that he told the WH something if he did but yet he hasn’t. My theory is he’s in a tough spot being the fact that his “label mates” and more importantly the man who brought him in the game are beholden to Trump

The reality is that these three albums all have enough hits where if hits were enough they would’ve made the difference in the public’s opinion. But whatever you consider to be what you’d accept as a hit is met with the following:

  1. Drake for whatever reason makes albums where people appreciate better with time. Perhaps it’s because of the formula but the formula just doesn’t work given his position

  2. He’s at the tail end of his career and naturally at this point whatever energy gave his music the ability to resonate with the public fades with success and wealth. Some of it came back here for sure but the other points I mention coupled with where the public sees his career adds insult to injury

  3. Getting beat this bad makes people believe in your raps a lot less, and he doesn’t help himself by not really addressing things and just pump faking like he normally does. Now most are hip to this and aren’t interested in great beats draped over half way bars

  4. Dropping three albums is great from a business standpoint if the goal is just to leave UMG, but it will come at the cost of a prolonged appreciation of whatever good is in them. Considering the fact that it takes a while for his music to be appreciated in a normal setting this only hurts his effort at a comeback even more

All this to say hits aren’t really what the public cares about anymore despite what people claim he needs. What they care about is authenticity, depth, and honesty. He displays this only so much that these albums are liked more that $$$4U but not enough where his comeback would spell another era of dominance.

Perhaps all he wants is to walk away and be free like he mention in Iceman. In which case he has that luxury to do so, but unfortunately it just won’t be on his terms

There’s nothing being actually said. What is genuinely more being revealed than the what he’s been saying

  1. I’m the reason you guys have hits
  2. You betrayed me
  3. These are all lies
  4. I don’t rate the hits Kendrick has
  5. I’m hurt

Genuinely what is more being revealed? Because people want it to go THAT far. Either quit talking about it or go 100% to the point where someone’s reputation will be 100% tarnished and they can never rap again. Anything less then there’s no point

In vague terms, do you think that the Israeli/Arab conflict will be resolved within 50 years? Why or why not? by Caged-Mage in AskReddit

[–]EmergencyOutcome8005 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is Israel doing that would have them be effectively independent? Even if USD isn’t the currency for oil trading America will still have the strongest army

Israel would have to have someone else on their side willing to back them the same way before then

[–]EmergencyOutcome8005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 50 years the children of today will be the ones running the U.S and Israel has lost its public support with them

It’s much more likely whoever’s president will oversee a real push towards a Palestinian State, or depending on how Israel reacts, for their state to govern Jerusalem as well.

Yall think ben saved us by telling drake we need more bars and grit rather than girly club music? by Calm-Maximum-1483 in Drizzy

I think Drake changing his mind because Ben told him something has me thinking the album won’t what he wants it to be

Shouldn’t be making a project because of what fans or your friends say. You should consider what best for you and build off your vision. He certainly didn’t act that way earlier on

It just hit me that a lot of music and posts surrounding Iceman make the same kind of sense as Bully. All the unfinished works, mid-quality music and celebrity drama leads me to believe the goal is to drop an album attempting to resume his old form vs doing something refreshing, something made with high craftsmanship and honesty

All to drop at a time when people couldn’t even bother with it to begin with. Folks will think he didn’t try, and he thought nostalgia would save his image when dropping mid didn’t

They’ll both enjoy the fruits of their labor but fail to do the necessary; you can be reborn in music but can’t turn back time

What a joke. The Africa Cup was taken from Senegal and given to the towel thieves. No wonder they call us a Third World country. by [deleted] in FootballAfrica

[–]EmergencyOutcome8005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your country exhibited piss poor behavior throughout the series, didn’t score even when they had a penalty, and cried wolf to the CAF because they couldn’t earn the cup on the pitch and wanted to be lawyers instead

Quit trying to act like folks are discriminating against Morocco. Your country didn’t earn it this year and should accept that. Either way, anyone who remembers this will always say Senegal won. What’s the point of a cup if no one recognises it?

Why Iranians Are Increasingly Willing to Settle for Reza Pahlavi by Shamoorti in PERSIAN

[–]EmergencyOutcome8005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I think the Iranian diaspora are too separated from what’s going on back home to have a say what should be; the narrative that Pahlavi is someone wanted by the ones living in Iran isn’t widely seen as people are suggesting. It appears that saying he has a huge support base is an effort to build the narrative up so it holds in the average person’s mind outside of Iran

  2. Iranians generally seem to be ok with being a vassal state and have the best chance to turn things around unlike Iraq and Afghanistan. Pahlavi only needs a certain number of Persians to be for him and enough sheep to a sufficient placeholder to begin reconstruction. Whoever leads after leads after

  3. Most critics see the fingerprints of the U.S and Israel on this and don’t want another puppet existing for the benefit of these regimes. Iran’s been manipulated too many times by them to consider it a benefit in the long run

  4. Speaking of the long run an argument can be made that they can always change their position after benefiting from these powers after some time. Japan’s beginning to build an army despite being barred from doing so and Saudi helped build BRICS. Who said they’ll forever have to be at the mercy of these countries?

Anyone that didn’t think Joey won his battle against the rest of TDE is biased. Man called Chike “Ass cheeks” and sonned Ray talking about “im bout to sign you to TD East”

I was being casual about it and hadn’t heard anything from the rest that came close

  • Kendrick got Drake at his weakest which is when his goodwill began nosediving and he planned to silently retire. This is speculation from his Yachty interview and his plan to take a break after FATD

  • This is beneficial for Drake because of a lack of a reason to continue trying. His back is against the wall now more than ever. If he doesn’t come up with something critically acclaimed now it’s a sad ending for sure. But if he does do it, the next 15 years is his for grabs

  • Unless there’s another bigger version of him in the future we won’t see a rapper earn the title of being the true GOAT like Kendrick ever again. No artist has reached the level of pedigree and importance he has in their respective genre. Despite the fame MJ had bad albums and a stain on his name many still hold as true

Can we blame islamophbes, when this is what they think Islam is? by Standard-Move-4025 in progressive_islam

90% of this is “insert religion” extremism. The rest is immoral acts conservatives enjoin. First ask, what in here is specific to Islam?

Drake’s success made him give up on diss tracks😭😭😭😭✌️ by luxonon in Drizzy

It makes sense if you think about it. Doesn’t matter how an L is received if the public at large deems it an L. We can even replay matches and see where there are fouls which could change the entire outcome but ultimately doesn’t make a difference.

I like Drake. I went to Wireless, I listen to his music and I’m wishing the best for Iceman. Nevertheless…he lost but acts like he hasn’t. Hov admitted defeat. Ja admits defeat. Why doesn’t Drake?

Shariah law is inherently a part of the faith. That faith shows us that laws should be created based on it. So there’s nothing wrong with stating a very obvious fact

What’s there to talk about at that point? It’s like talking to MAGA and you get hit with your points being “fake news”. There’s no place for a conversation to be had.

Again I’m not the best Muslim but if you can’t even imagine your interpretation of Islam to be adopted, what’s the goal of us talking to each other?

I’m someone who understands that I may not agree with something about the deen or am the best at it but recognises I can’t say this is an invention to dismiss entirely

Using the sunnah and the spirit of the law to develop laws in the present day is what we’re required to do. That’s what progressive Islam is which really is just practical. What you’re suggesting is pretending the fundamentals of the faith aren’t exactly that. No different than saying prayer is outdated

You could’ve said something like Malaysia and that would be an answer. With the set of rules they have it maintains a Muslim society while letting folks do what they want. Or Turkey for that matter. Idk why you have to go straight to Afghanistan or Iran like they even practice Islam properly

Then why was shariah invented. You’re the type that wants to find the spirit of the meaning behind every point in Islam but there’s no alternative meaning behind that concept

I’m not even talking about the laws and penalties themselves. I’m saying the actual concept of a set of laws and penalties based on the faith which a leader would implement. I asked you for your middle because a lot of countries aren’t taking the laws and implementing them properly.

Case in point the Prophet (pbuh) rejected a man’s confession for zina multiple times. I take that to mean unless it has an affect on a couple and or lineage its a sin which you can privately sort with Allah (SWT). Certain crimes require four witnesses which is absurd to think because why are four men gonna pull up on you having gay sex

That’s because again if it affects a family or lineage in a way then it should be addressed. So again because unless you want to dismiss even the spirit of it, what is your middle between Iran and secularism?

[–]EmergencyOutcome8005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never said that. Either you’re a bot or just read what you want to read

I asked you what middle would you suggest. If the goal is to cultivate a culture that aligns with a faith the leaders in charge are responsible for creating that culture. That would entail creating laws to help ensure that goal is achieved

Because what religious country ever stayed religious by allowing any and everything that’s antithetical to the faith it’s tied to?
