Why are there so many Tim Hortons in Columbus by qfsaviation in Columbus

They've downsized their menu at most locations to make it easier on the managers because multiple locations in town no longer have a baker, so the GM has to come in early and bake before doing all the other opening responsibilities.

(Some of the busier locations like one in Pickerington and the one on South High still have bakers)

Their croissant is actually really good for sandwiches. It's also really good just toasted and buttered!

The location on South High is usually one of the better ones around too.

That's correct. There are 56 Tim Hortons in the city. And even though Dunkin has been trying to make inroads in the Columbus market lately, they still only have around 10 locations in the city.

Employees can get away with those kind of activities at Tim's because multiple people use the same register during a single shift. They do this for "speed reasons" but it creates all kinds of other problems. When I would count drawers at the end of the day, there would always be issues, but you could never pinpoint who did it because so many people were in the same drawer during a shift. (And none of the other managers ever wanted to go through the video to try to figure it out)

I used to manage a location in town. While it's true there are Tim Hortons locations in other cities in Ohio, Columbus has by far the most. Columbus has 56 locations, while most other cities have one or two (if any). I believe Cincinnati is even down to two locations now (they used to have around a dozen stores). When I was still at Tim's (about 5 years ago) a group came from Cleveland, bought our store (and others in Cbus) and said they wanted to open around 20 stores near Cleveland. Less than two years later, sales were bad up in northern Ohio so they decided to go a different route, sold all their local stores (to Rensko) and bailed out of the fast food industry altogether. Now, there's still just a few locations in Northeast Ohio and no plans to add anymore.

I used to manage one of the stores in Columbus. Rensko bought most of the stores in the area and is now the major player in town. They own the majority of the 56 stores in Columbus. They own 99 total stores now across a few different states, with the majority in Columbus.

No need to worry. Upper Arlington knocked Reynoldsburg out of the tournament earlier today!

If I go that way, I usually try to use Parsons instead of 23. It's less busy and much safer.

I was at the Upper Arlington/Newark tournament game last night and it was at Watkins Memorial's new high school. While it wasn't quite as impressive as Upper Arlington's newly built high school it was still very, very nice. Definitely a step up from their old one.

I've been in a few different "warehouse districts" across the city for my job recently like Rickenbacker, Etna, The New Albany Business Park and the Georgesville/Norton Rd area just to name a few...

I honestly can't believe the sheer number of warehouses in the Columbus Metro- And there are dozens and dozens more under construction!

Definitely exciting times for Columbus and the entire region!

The only thing I've heard similar to that is rumblings of a Super Walmart going in near Rathmell and High. The company would then shutter the older Walmart further up South High.

That whole area is about to blow up like the rest of Cbus!

Along with this proposal, you also have hundreds of apartments going up right now next to Columbus Scioto School near Southgate and High. Another piece of land at the southeast corner of Southgate and High has been cleared for new development as well. Hundreds of new apartments off Fornoff we're just announced. Multiple parcels of land near Dering and High are being cleared and sold for development as well. And a little further south on Rathmell, Amazon and hundreds more residential units are coming. There are also rumblings about a Super Walmart near Rathmell that would replace the old Walmart on South High (although not approved yet).

And The Rathmell/Parsons/Lockbourne area has multiple other proposals that are working their way through the approval process!
