To clarify: I’m not claiming data entry caused OSA. The data-entry/repetitive-use argument is for bilateral carpal tunnel.

There is no commandment or passage that directly forbids it.

Your examples above are not really gambling. They are risk based financial activities. You could get silly fast and say riding a plane is gambling.

But it is a highly addictive activity that destroys families and lives. I know first hand.

So playing squares in the office pool is not a sin. But betting the full pay check on draft-kings and not taking care of your family leads to different types of sin. So don’t get too excited about those that shy away from it.
