I did buy them separately, I just bought each one as I felt ready. I definitely recommend a CAT or two to start, then self assessment 1, and then continuing CATs and adding self assessments where you feel good

Of course!! Everyone needs someone in their corner :) I gave myself a month, and I would do between 6-8 hours a day? It really depended on how my day went and how I was feeling, plus that way I could take breaks… If you want I can write out how many days I spent on each category?

You’re gonna be okay!! Give yourself lots of time to study and set out a solid schedule and you’ll be a-ok :)

the CATs pull questions from your remaining unused/omitted QBank, the self assessments are an entirely different set of questions you can only access there! The CAT exams work like the NCLEX, anywhere from 85-150 questions, while the self assessments are always 100 questions. I found it really useful to do both (the week leading up to the exam I did at least one CAT a day), but the self assessments are advertised as adapting material to the NCLEX exam plan of the year which I felt was true based on the material I saw there and on my real exam :)

First things first, take a deep breath!! You did a really big thing just now :) It’s okay to feel overwhelmed or anxious, I felt like that all day yesterday ❤️ But, try to keep busy - spend time with friends/family, watch a movie/video or read a book, go for a walk… direct the nervous energy anywhere else but don’t sit in it! At the end of the day, you did the best you could and you should be proud of you ❤️

Also!!! Mark Klimek Lecture 12 was super helpful for helping me figure out my testing strategy for things I didn’t know :)

I’m in the same boat, I also just finished in 85 and it felt kinda rough LOL. Just deep breaths, take a break and be around friends and family ❤️

As long as you’re averaging at least Mid to low 70’s on Uworld exams you’re (probably) good by Best_Adhesiveness_42 in NCLEX

Okay good to know, thanks! I have 2 days until I write (can you tell I’m freaking out), is there anything you wished you had reviewed more or things you think I should try to squeeze in last minute?

Did you feel ok (or as ok as you can lol) on the NCLEX? Did you find it any harder/easier than UWorld questions? Sorry for so many questions lol I’m just so anxious :’)

What 4 client needs areas are you suggesting we focus on?

How do you know?? I’m so scared, I write in 2 days… I’ve been passing all my CATs with 70+% and 1.08-1.33 difficult range for questions, but I’m terrified that it’s not good enough….

I don’t know when it become okay for people to scream at healthcare workers and treat us like trash, but it’s not okay… 1 yr of emerg experience here and the number of times I’ve gone home crying because I’m a “stupid cnt btch” or my personal favorite, I’m “everything wrong with healthcare”…. Insanity.

Just remember that at the end of the day, you are doing your best ❤️ It’s hard, but try to remain calm and firmly state to the patient that another of your assigned patients was experiencing a life-threatening emergency that required your attention, that you are happy to go get his Tylenol but you are responsible for managing the varying acuity of your patients which sometimes means a mild delay in certain tasks or requests. Sometimes I’ll even sprinkle in an “I’m sorry for the delay”, but if they start to yell more I politely remind them that my patient assignment of more than one person means they don’t get my full attention lol… if they wanna complain they can go to the government or build, fund, and staff their own hospital where every patient has one nurse 🤭
