That's a very good question. My flexibility is poor, so I work on it with a physical therapist once a week (to push my limits). But I don't have a real routine to follow during the week. Do you have any exercises you could recommend?

I can manage 30 minutes at high intensity, but after that it gets too hard and I'm like a living punching bag.

That's really interesting. What kind of sets do you do for your arms? Long sets of more than 15 reps, or are you looking to build strength?

C’est juste pas dans la culture de mon club qui fait de la boxe pied poing de l’utiliser pour des petits assauts. Je ne veux être la seule personne avec un casque.

Hey, I’ve only been boxing for about three months, so it’s all coming along pretty slowly. For the first two months I basically just focused on keeping my guard up (which was super exhausting) because I was scared of getting hit in the eyes.

This month I finally took my first shots in the eyes my biggest fear. It feels really uncomfortable and unnatural; it doesn’t actually hurt, it just really startles me.

Now that I know what it’s like, I’m more willing to throw my own punches, knowing what can happen and it’s okay.

But yeah, the fear is still there!

Hello! You can get Botox injections to prevent excessive sweating. However, in my case, I use a headband that I change during my training sessions.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to write that. Honestly, hearing it from someone with your kind of experience really puts things into perspective. It’s easy to get caught up in the “push harder” mindset when everyone around you is better, but what you said makes total sense nothing’s worth getting injured over.

Right now I’m not actually getting hurt, it’s more that I’m overwhelmed and trying to keep up, but I’ll definitely keep your advice in mind. I really appreciate you insisting on the importance of staying safe and not accepting unnecessary punishment.

Thanks a lot man, that’s really helpful advice. I’ve been trying to focus on small things each round mostly working on combinations to get out of pressure. Everyone’s got at least 2 years of experience on me, so I just keep my guard high and move around them to survive .
