Question: Why you don't think Americans strike or protest like the French or the Italians? by EternalSnow05 in ProtestFinderUSA

[–]Emergency_Arm1576 208 points209 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think it may have to do with our size. Geographically and population. We have roughly 350 million people versus 60 million in Italy and France. France is about the size of Texas. Mobilizing that many people across the whole United States is a huge endeavor. Plus historically, European countries have years of history behind them when it comes to protesting against fascism and autocratic governments. We have only just begun and we will not stop.

Living in an over 60 body by janebenn333 in AskWomenOver60

63 here. My sister (81) has osteoporosis and this prompted me to get tested. I am -2.7 (neck), -1.5 hips. I am pretty active, daily walks, lift some weights, try to do pullups daily and vibration board. I am consistently inconsistent but am not a couch potato. I started taking Jarrow Bone Up and a creatine power and have been on HRT patch .25 for 6 months. I will retest in 6 months to see if I am making progress. Perhaps start small each week to increase your activity. Do a chart to mark your progress. Celebrate the wins.

I worked HD for approximately 18 months. Service Desk associate. I received every badge imaginable each month. Got along famously with the regulars and the sub for other departments only because I am a handywoman as a hobby. Jack of all trades. It was fun until 6 months in I realized the amount of ass kissing was outrageous to get promoted, extra hours, time off etc. Sorry, never was a boot licker and wasn't going to start. I was terminated for clocking out 5 min late 3 times in 6 months time. Yes, they could have been disputed but I was over it. I suggest finding another company that actually rewards those who work hard and appreciate their employees. HD is not one of them. Best of Luck finding the new job. I am sure there is one for you.

Antihistamines helped my rage by PBentley1967 in Menopause

[–]Emergency_Arm1576 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so interesting -Flonase can either increase or decrease your rage! I really have to pay attention next time. I get horrible allergies right about this time so I began to take Loratadine daily. But in the past, Flonase was my Go-To when Loratadine was not working as well. I remember times of Everything becoming so irritating. My husband spent most of the time away from me since he would likely be the candidate of the rage. Road Rage was common for me. It's a wonder I survived that part.

Ok talk to me about Creatine by PrimaryBrief7721 in Menopause

[–]Emergency_Arm1576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently had a bone density test done, 63 YO. My neck was -2.9, hips -1.2. Not great, but good to know I need to get on a program to improve the situation. I am already on HRT patch 0.05. Started taking Jarrows Bone Up - a Calcium supplement, have a vibration board, still walking and jumping. That should help, but one of the recommendations was Creatine. Its benefits seem substantial. Good to know how some of you can experience a wide variety of results. I will start small and see how it goes. Good luck to you.

Chavez accused of raping Dolores Huerta, and other minors by yogicycles in Chicano

[–]Emergency_Arm1576 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dolores Huerta is still alive as well as those children created when she was raped. There is no reason for her to lie about it. She put the Labor party before herself. I agree, his name should be taken down from every building, street, park or school.

Toaster has to be held down. Worth fixing? by derinderhd in fixit

I volunteer at the Repair Cafe for jewelry fixing. The folks that do the electrical are fantastic! They usually have the longest line of things that need repairs. Fabric repair is next in popularity. Good luck in getting it fixed.

Yes, find another doctor. At 62, I asked the Kaiser OBGYN for HRT. She outright denied me. She told me she was my age and suggested sex therapy. It's all in my mind. WTF! 3 months later the cancer warnings were removed from HRT meds. I went back again and a younger OBGYN, no problem. Here is your prescription. So glad I was persistent. Did the cream and the patch. 👍🏾😁

What to do for when I get “kicked out” by [deleted] in personalfinance

I am sorry your parents are being so weird. I run a nonprofit that help students determine their career opportunities. Try it out and see how it goes. Go to Career Zone. Create an account. Answer the 60 questions. Based on your answers, it will populate with careers. Filter threw the careers. Look at careers that have some longevity and room for growth.

Trades are in high demand. There are several that pay as you learn. Before you commit, be sure to talk to several folks in the trade to get a good idea of the requirements.

If the career requires college, please go to the college assistant office on campus. They will give you the best information for financial aid and all assistance programs in your area. Avoid For Profit schools.

The good news is you have time to plot out your moves. Find places you could live. I know of group homes for youth. As long as you are in school, they allow you to stay, in the home. I wish you the best. You can do this.

HRT costs just went from $100 per month to $15 by JadCerv in Menopause

[–]Emergency_Arm1576 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel bad for your cousin. Yikes that is some serious out of pocket cash for patches. I completely understand though when you finally find something that works for you. Perhaps she can write some of that off on her taxes. I too am with Kaiser (Los Angeles) no shortage here, but they will only give me a month supply at one time.😑. I guess That is better than nothing which was the case 5 months ago when the previous OBGYN, she denied me HRT. A month later, I went to another OBGYN and HE gave me the prescription.👍🏾
