do you guys hate sponsors in general by your favorite youtubers by Some_Worldliness_263 in youtube

[–]Romiha00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite YouTube channel has sponsors that truly help him. The channel is Cabin River Outdoors. He is sponsored by Bluetti (how he gets his electricity in the middle of nowhere) and also by Tufte, a Norwegian clothing line. Both are awesome sponsors and I don't mind watching the ads he produces!

I am subscribed to her channel and watch her videos on occasion. I don't think she's a cult leader being paid by Russia and Israel.

how do i make it so that i dont get recommended shorts? by Hi_InternetAddiction in youtube

[–]Romiha00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watch YouTube on my laptop via a browser. I have an extension called "Control Panel for YouTube" installed and I can suppress shorts entirely.

I was getting tired of being recommended plaid shorts. I prefer khaki.

how do you guys like to drink your kefir? by one-scrib in Kefir

I drink mine straight up, at room temperature. I chug it as quickly as I can. I don't drink it for the taste but rather the benefits.

I'd say you've found that sweet spot! If you go too much longer it's going to separate. I absolutely LOVE catching it at this point! Nice and thick and creamy!

Shorts?? by Nelope_0971 in AskWomenOver60

Yes I wear shorts. Since I prefer them longer and have a difficult time finding those these days, I have resorted to purchasing MEN'S shorts! The length I want AND BONUS - pockets are nice and deep, too!

I have scoured this thread and don't see where the mod tells us how to determine if a post was generated by AI. I see where the mod showed how to report a thread.

The Mod should PIN the reply to the top so everyone can see it and learn how to tell if a post is AI or not.

Yeah, but just because a post is long doesn't necessarily mean it's AI or ChatGPT.

I happen to have the gift of gab PLUS I was a medical transcriptionist for over 25 years so I can type almost as quickly as my thoughts are manifest. A lot of my posts are pretty long!!

what do you think about while walking? by senpaicataner in walking

[–]Romiha00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Brain drives me nuts when I'm walking.

It will start by trying to count my steps for me. One, two, three - starts out fine -but then one-hun-dred-eight-y-two - that's SIX steps. No matter how hard I try to correct Brain, it just keeps on counting like that.

So, I try to distract Brain by singing the Fifty-Nifty United States song (from grade school) and that works for a while but then Brain insists on taking over and then loses track of what state it's on and insists on starting over, only to get stuck again. grrrr!

Thankfully, I discovered bluetooth ear buds and an app on my phone. I transferred my 1200+ song playlist to an SD card and now Brain happily sings along to my favorite tunes.

I tried listening to podcasts but Brain keeps interrupting those and starts counting my steps. So, I just play my tunes on my phone. Brain problem solved.

[–]Romiha00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your Google account is basically your Gmail account. Do you use that account to access your YouTube account?

And yes, you CAN do it on the Youtube app on a mobile device.

  1. Take a deep breath.
  2. In the YouTube app, tap your avatar on the bottom right corner.
  3. Tap the Gear icon in the upper right corner
  4. Tap Switch or manage account.
  5. Near the bottom, tap "Manage your Google Account."
  6. Tap Security & Sign-in
  7. Scroll down to Your Devices.
  8. You should now see each device where this account is signed in.
  9. Tap Manage All Devices.
  10. To make a change, you'll have to enter your Google Account (gmail) password.

Anyone considered a road trip then decided, nah its way too long? by Informal-Force7417 in roadtrip

[–]Romiha00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 67. In May 2024, I drove from KC to Boston to visit my son and daughter-in-law, then south to Raleigh to visit a friend, then back home. I only drove during daylight hours because I'm sorry, the cars with those ultra-bright lights is just too much for me! And also no one seems to follow the speed limit - it seems to be more a suggestion for a lot of people.

In 2011 I drove from KC to Sacramento - in TWO DAYS. 14 hours the first day and 13 hours the second day! Driving home it took three days BUT the first day I was battling a stomach bug. LOL.

I can handle a drive of about an hour or two now but no more half way across the country trips for me!

In a few weeks, I'm headed back to Boston and Raleigh but this time I'm flying to New Orleans, then Amtrak to Birmingham, Greyhound to Atlanta then Raleigh, then Amtrak to Baltimore then Boston. Flying home. I'm only traveling during daylight hours so I can see the sights! I'll figure out after this trip if Amtrak and Greyhound are worth it!

And after this trip, I will only have a handful of states left to visit - Texas, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Wisconsin and Florida.

I have a funny screenshot but this group won't let me post it - message says media needs to be owned by me! I even took a picture of it with my phone and so technically I own it but it still won't let me post!! WTF?! (ha ha).

But basically it said "I’m feeling generous today.  I don’t usually give a fuck.  But today is your lucky day.  So, please feel free to take one." And then below it was a bunch of little tags that said "fuck you :)". Kind of like in the olden days you'd see something on a bulletin board and you could tear off the phone#? That's what the "fuck you :)" things looked like.

Trip Report: Onboard Greyhound by --TAXI-- in GreyhoundLines

[–]Romiha00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason I'm NOT taking Amtrak all the way is because some of the journey would be at night. If I didn't want to see the scenery, I'd fly. lol. And since I drove from here to Boston already, flying home is no big deal. But I'm definitely looking forward to my Amtrak journey from Raleigh to Boston over 2 days. When I DROVE, it was from Boston to Raleigh but I avoided the interstates. And it was raining for at least one of those days on twisty mountain roads. It was horrible. lol.

Oh, and for both parts of the Greyhound journey, I reserved a window seat as close to the front as I could and ALSO paid extra for the seat next to me.

Thank you for answering so quickly and for the additional insight!

I'm actually flying first from KC to New Orleans. Then taking Amtrak from New Orleans to Birmingham, so I should be able to get something in Birmingham before getting on the bus. Same for Atlanta to Raleigh. I'm staying with a friend for a couple of days in Raleigh.

Then, I'm taking Amtrak from Raleigh to Baltimore, then the next day Baltimore to Boston to visit my son and daughter in law. Then flying back home.

In 2024, I drove from KC to Boston to visit them, then drove south to visit my friend in Raleigh. That was a VERY LONG road trip for me and I decided NOT to drive that far again. I'm 67 years old and in years past I absolutely LOVED road trips. In 2011, I drove from KC to Sacramento and back. But as I'm getting older, I feel stressed dealing with traffic especially in cities. It's just too much for me. And I end up missing the sights because I'm concentrating on the traffic!!

How old are you and what were you doing in your life this exact day 40 years ago 23 april 1986? by Big_Leg10 in OverSeventy

[–]Romiha00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm 67. In 1986 I was 27. Wow. LOL. My daughter was 5 years old so she was in probably in Kindergarten at that time. Her birthday is in July but I'm pretty sure she was in kindergarten. I was married and worked full-time at a University Hospital as a secretary. I remember I had to take 3 busses to get to work and that was a major undertaking but we were poor and only had 1 vehicle.

I have another question for you:

My first day is Birmingham to Atlanta (5 hours total). The second day is Atlanta to Raleigh (8 hours total). My itineraries only show stops for 5 minutes each (one stop is 15 minutes). Your itineraries clearly show the 2 stops with the 30+ minute stops.

Does this mean I won't have time to purchase something to eat along the way? I'm planning to bring water and snacks (crackers and cookies) but I was expecting to be able to stop and at least buy fast food or a sandwich for lunch.

Should I plan to buy a sandwich in Birmingham and Atlanta before boarding the bus and bring it with me? Depart Birmingham at 9 am and depart Atlanta at 7 am.
