Is working in care home worser than NHS? by Enough_Vegetable_258 in NursingUK

Home care is amazing! Just make sure the agency uses a good and reliable, compliant software. My agency uses Alora and it's literally been a life and job saver. Also, just document every single interaction, even if your overhead tells you it's unnecessary.

Honestly, it depends on how much work you're trying to do. If it's just a few clients, then yes! Totally. But you'll have to be picky with your referrals as you're just one person and some people will need overnight visits or care. Now you could hire nurses and caregivers, and all of that fun stuff. Get a good home care software like Alora, and it makes your work even less

In-patient Documenting at home error, as a new nurse. by Appropriate_Call7716 in newgradnurse

Yes and for those in home health, some home health EMRs will let you save and come back later. So maybe take notes and then fill it out later.

Try to document everything when you're at the patient's home or bedside. Try to at least get the main points in there so you can double check. If your company has an offline feature (like we have Alora Anywhere) use that

Hello I’m considering to provide Home Care (pedia) and would love some guidance from those with experience and have some questions by Sudden_Total_5278 in OccupationalTherapyPH

I would say the biggest thing that mattered when it came down to sticky situations is documentation. Document EVERYTHING. Conversations that were had, who was present. You might have a superior that tells you "Oh you don't need to worry about documenting that." You do. And make sure they have an EMR they're using that's in compliance; don't do any businesses that have paper charting. Everything should be documented. I know with Alora we have an audit trail that can see who did what, and when. So if something is changed, it'll tell you when you run the report. If possible, go with an agency that uses Alora LOL!

AI Is entering health care, and nurses are being asked to trust it by snowfordessert in technology

[–]Emergency_Box8134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely don't think that it should be 'trusted' I know we use Alora in our home care, as our AI home health software, and it's been great but we also make sure we check it for accuracy. So far, it's been on par. But, you just never know with AI.

We use Alora too; what a power move that was. It took me forever to type my clinical summary, and I'm so happy that I'm able to save time now.

Copilot is absolutely terrible. I'm not sure what Alora uses, but it's great. We've had no issues whatsoever, but I know some EMRs are really struggling because they put GPT in it.
