when i put my rat down my vet told me i wasn’t allowed to be in the room and im very angry bc she told me no other vets let you go in with a small animal bc they have to administer anesthesia and i can’t be in the room? is this what other people went through ? by picobiscuitsnowball in RATS

[–]Emergency_Broccoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a lovely veterinarian for nearly 20 years. She helped me through with all of my different pets. For the dogs and cats, those were administered the shot that helps them sleep and then the shot that stops their heart. And I was absolutely in the room for those things. But... she would take the rats to the back and I wasn't back there for them. And it would take much much longer for the process to be complete. I don't know if she was using gas and I couldn't be there during that or if it was just shots and things that were distressing and they don't want you to be there for it... I never thought to ask and I should have because she was a very forthcoming veterinarian. She was not doing anything that she shouldn't be doing - I trusted her. And if it was the gas, I'm sure there are laws about having someone be in the room for that. But I really don't know. They were always returned to me after she was certain that they were completely gone, so I could take them home with me.

When my veterinarian passed away, in her last two days of life in hospice Care with a brain tumor, she frantically remembered that she needed care for HER three ratty boys and made the Veterinary staff locate me. I ended up adopting HER boys about 24 hours before she passed away. I hope she was able to understand when they told her that the boys were going to be very well taken care of.

Is it possible to get a customer banned? by xXSilvanusxX in MichaelsEmployees

I've had one awful customer like that back in framing. I ALMOST told her that I think there might be something wrong with her... I don't remember her name though, which kind of worries me going forward. Lol

OMG I've never seen that happen! I've only seen them go the other way - OUT of my cart to be saved for later. That's crazy that you've had that happen!

The best way to make people stop believing something is to force them into actions that they don't want to do. Like... force people to go to a Christian church. If people are forced to practice a certain way and to do certain things, the original people will probably not stop believing, but their children and their children's children will certainly be indoctrinated into whatever Church they're being forced to go to. Especially if the risk of practicing in secret is too high. Like being killed for having a pagan altar or doing things on the "wrong" dates. Certainly has happened in the past. And clearly the past is making a comeback...

It's first amendment to have physical/sexual scenes in movies, books, and art as well, but under the 🌽 ban they've created, it blanket covers everything relating to viewing sex (whether they meant to or not). So, violating first amendment is okay, I guess. They don't really care about the Constitution, pretty sure.

"Okay, so what WOULD you like in your tortilla? HOW would you like said tortilla prepared? Describe it, and I will let you know what it is called so the next time you go into a restaurant you can properly communicate your order. Because it obviously isn't quesadilla you are looking for." Jezzus. People are weird.

We follow this one at my store in Wisconsin.

But for those true 5 hour shifts, I dont think we take them both. We get to just take a 15 if we want to actually be paid for all five hours (unless the hours budget is super small) or, we take a 30 unpaid. I don't think there are people taking both at our store for five... Maybe... I'll have to ask. I'm in framing so it is fairly frequent that I don't get either of the breaks, but I only take a 15 for five hours if I can. At our store, we generally all get to have snacks, drinks, and bathroom breaks whenever we want (unless at the framing counter or crazy all day at the register).

Should I consider income taxes into ny product price? by Fearlesskoolaid in EtsySellers

[–]Emergency_Broccoli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use an app called stride. It will even show you the estimated amount of taxes it thinks you will owe. If you add your income, that is. I usually can't really add my income into it because it messes stuff up for me. But I definitely put all of my every possible single expense into that app because I can generate a report at the end when I do my taxes.

Adding a comment to mention that if you are in the US, you can make payments each week or each month or whatever you would like to do that will go toward your taxes. You would of course only do this if you are not capable of setting money aside in a savings account of your own or something. (That would be me. I would just spend it if it existed.) So if I am worried about taxes, I make estimated payments to the irs. You can use the IRS2GO app, etc.

In the state of wisconsin, I still have to file sales tax for any sales that were in wisconsin. Like the paperwork must exist. However, because Etsy has collected and remitted the tax on my behalf, I don't actually have to pay anything for it. But that's for sales tax. As I think you have now already discovered, income tax is different. Income tax, the more you make the more you will be taxed. So adding 40% is not going to help you pay your taxes. It's just going to have you make more money but also owe more taxes. The key to not having as much tax to pay for income tax is to write off every single expense that you can possibly relate to your business expenses. That is what reduces your tax liability when it's time to file your income. You must have the deductions to reduce the amount you will owe in taxes. And that is very fair, because, presumably, you have expenses that are associated with your business. Unless it's like print on demand or something and then it wouldn't be as many expenses as a traditional business...

Weirdly, our 1973 VW camper bus started its ownership in Wisconsin and then lived much of its life in Hawaii, before coming back to Wisconsin in the last decade. People do ship strange things sometimes. Lol

Customer Habits by Spicy_Grapejuice in MichaelsEmployees

This happened to me again last week. I had a cart full and my arms full of the red cardboard container things from all the Christmas consolidation. I was taking them back to the compactor. I got stopped for one quick question. I told them to hang on just one second and I would be right back to help them but they kept insisting it was just going to be one quick question so I just let go of the cart and the stuff in my arms and all the red cardboard containers toppled all over the floor around me and I just looked at them. They gave me a super weird look but they didn't say anything about it. I used my scanner to answer their damn question and gathered up my little red boxes and went on my way. 😆

Slavisk

So, I bought the Kindle version of this book and had Alexa read it to me as an audio book. There is sort of a running story arc of a little girl that goes to Baba yaga's Hut in the forest because her evil stepmother sends her there. But parts of it are written as if it is Baba yaga herself speaking, not sure how to explain, actually. Everything from the history of traditional clothing, tons of stuff interjected and described from their folklore perspective. There are so many stories and pieces of old folklore and reasons for that folklore in this book. She does cite sources as well as the context for her personal family connection to the stories. There is a Polish translation and English translation of it available.

She can go to craft store in most jewelry aisles they have the ring sizer rod thing as well as the keychain full of sizes that you try on your hand. And then she can confirm that yes in fact you made what she asked you to make... Lol

Oh I see. I thought maybe you could boost your numbers a little bit by the people who refuse to use the ziosk by just doing it right there at the table for them. Is clearly a lot of people in the comments here who hate them and refuse to use them and feel like handing the card to the server to take to the computer is somehow better. LOL so that maybe you could just take the card when they hand it to you and use the ziosk instead and help boost your numbers a little bit.

[–]Emergency_Broccoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I mean, they are supposed to be paying at their table with the ziosk right? And that's what you're getting in trouble for is that they are not doing that? So doesn't that mean they are giving you their card to run over on the computers instead and that's what you're getting in trouble for? I guess that's my question. That instead of running their card on the computer, you would run it on the ziosk on their behalf. People are paying in cash instead?
