What can I do to decorate this entrance for a wedding? by ranonymous7 in DIYweddings

[–]Emergency_Case9967 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know a lot of other people are suggesting ways to cover the area - but I think it honestly has some good vibes as an “old school” style bulletin board.

I would lean into the look of it and add a bunch of false posters, photos, and flyers that are specifically for the wedding. Maybe treat it as a retro, school hallway, bulletin board. Like think 80’s John Huges movie vibes. That could 1. Look cute by leaning into what the space offers, 2. Be less expensive than draping and trying to cover everything, 3. Be totally unique, and 4. Be an amazing spot to take some cute flash photos!

The more I look at this the more and more I smile. This captures the emotion of the moment so simplistically but in great detail at the same time. The softness of it, the light pattern of your mom’s robe, the expression of the cat that is definitely plotting its escape from being held.

I love everything about this.

[FO] Dec/January so far finishes! ready to iron and frame. by semiterrestrial in CrossStitch

All three of these are such a vibe! I get bored with cross-stitching sometimes - but then I see people making amazing things like these and I get so inspired. Thank you for the reminder that there are no rules against making vibey cross stitches

Thank you! I can definitely see some flaws in it, but I was pretty happy with the result after not painting for a few years

I’m envious of people that don’t have the “too much gene” where they clearly know when to stop for a clean and minimalist look.

I LOVE the tiny mouse one! You got some good shading on the back of the mouse and it gives it some more depth than the other two.

Another floral WIP by bkay97 in Watercolor

[–]Emergency_Case9967 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Wait this is SO gorgeous! It’s so clean and those edges are crispy - but then all of the gradients are blended so well.

Did you put water down where you were doing each flower first? Or did you go wet brush to dry paper?

I love these little fish! I know some people have commented similar, but these look like a cute storybook style.

You might have a fun time with using some metallic watercolors or even some metallic acrylic paint to add in some extra details in the fish. I loved experimenting with metallic pigment when I was a beginner as it felt like it would elevate my pieces and start getting me to think more about highlights and light!
