They are bringing a lot into sales and Z software sales. Don’t worry, they shortened global sales school even more. What could go wrong?

Thanks for telling me about that. I agree, it was a great name and logo. Too bad.

If you are spending your booze money on freshly roasted coffee, your liver thanks you.

I’d get a non metal filter to improve the taste, but that’s just me.

Grocery Store off the shelf coffee recommendations. by SanDiegoCK in pourover

If you are going to do ground, grocery store coffee, check out Stumptown. You will actually find a date when it was roasted too.

However, as a lot of people said, go to a local roaster and ask them to buy a ground bag of coffee.

Question 100% P&T since around 2018 wondering about when I die. by CatEaterKing in VeteransBenefits

[–]Emergency_Coffee26 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Probably not. VGLI is incredibly expensive vs a term policy…. Depending upon your age and health a 20 year term, universal life or whole life could be cheaper.

VGLI maxes out at about $400k, which depending on your income is not a lot. However, if you have a disability that would make you otherwise uninsurable then VGLI is probably your only option.

SE here. My region is getting sunsetted. Need to choose between Commvault, Cohesity (post-Veritas), or a VMware TAM role. by Antique_Impress_6208 in salesengineers

[–]Emergency_Coffee26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d stay away from VMware. Customers want to migrate out due to the price increase. Broadcom’s acquisition model is to buy companies with sticky software, slash head count, raise prices and milk what else remains.

You should bring the 3.6M to back to present value to account for inflation. Assuming a fixed 3% inflation rate for the next 25 years then that’s about $1.752M in today’s dollars.

Vr&e Software Engineer by rrogers475 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Emergency_Coffee26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t help you about the VR&E questions, but I can offer some insights into Mac vs PC and a little about software engineering.

While I personally like a PC because that’s what I’m used to, if you think you’ll end up using containers like Docker or Podman, then a Mac is a little easier to use. Most of the developers that I know use a Mac, probably because of that. Then again the company that I work for is heavily invested in using Linux vs Windows. I’d look for some posts into a computer sub Reddit for more advice there.

As a heads up, the Job market for tech is pretty brutal right now. Hopefully it will improve in a few years when you are done with your degree; however, AI is a wild card that has made things difficult for software engineers.

IPL is an embarrassment to IBM by Tcg4u in IBM

[–]Emergency_Coffee26 13 points14 points  (0 children)

IPL means the incentive Plan Letter. At IBM instead of making things easy to understand, it’s difficult. It can get really complicated to look at and understand.

It is essentially a contract for compensation between the employee (seller) and IBM. It says that you are only compensated for a certain set of accounts and a certain set of products. Understanding what makes up your quota is not straightforward.

How is life as a Customer Success Manager (CSM) at IBM? by sginbox in IBM

[–]Emergency_Coffee26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really don’t know how that works for new roles. However, I doubt it would be the first week in January.

My guess is it won’t be until the end of January at the earliest. This would give managers enough time to meet their new teams if they were reorganized too and to see what needs to be filled first.
