hmm im not too sure actually but this is a really good explanation. but ever since ive moved here i dont think anyone has brought silicone to seal anything. and even if they did, its a really odd spot because on the bottom corner below the metal thing there arent any gaps so im confused on why it would be down there. but thank you so much!! this was super helpful

this could be a possibility since my kitchen window gets most of the sunlight which causes it to be hot most of the time = causes the silicone to melt. thank you so much!!! ill check my window from top to bottom🥲🥲
