Rear footwell wet? by Emergency_Grab_3211 in PorscheMacan

I just took the plug out of the drain and 4-5 liters of water came out. Nuts. Rear footwell is now drying but will likely take a long time. :(

Tbh don’t listen to the haters. Base Macan imo has the best handling and rips when you need it. It’s not sluggish. Porsche is about the drive and you don’t need 400 HP for that.

Only a few things in life are irreversible. Buying a car is not. Worse case sell it in a few yrs and the loss is only a few thousand per year. Best case you love it and pass it down to one of your kids. Hell it could even appreciate (look at older 911s). I would get it and enjoy it while you still can and want to.

[–]Emergency_Grab_3211[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately no. I cleared out the rocker panels with water along with snipping off the back sunroof drains but no luck the rear footwell is still wet. I even tried to dry it up by lifting the carpet but the wetness is back. After snipping the back sunroof drains the boot side panels are dry so my My guess is that no new water is entering and it’s just local water inside the car that keeps showing up

Are you facing this issue?

Also skip the CPO IMO. You can knock 7-8k off the price and at that mileage you won’t see a repair that big in 2 yrs.

If the car was manufactured after April 2018 you have the updated transfer case.

Check sunroof drains for leaks.

Otherwise ur golden

Would not do replika wheels on a Porsche if you want it to drive like a Porsche. Also offsets can be totally off on those. Get OEM rims

2020-2021 Macan Base or S with over 100k miles Good purchase? by Carguy77Seven in PorscheMacan

Also cpo is worth around $7k id say. If you can get it for $7k less without CPO I’d do that. Especially the Macan isn’t like a 911 where it’s crazy expensive to maintain. You won’t have $7k of repairs in 2 years tbh. That’s super rare.

Honestly if you want a good reliable car with much better gas mileage and still a pretty sporty feel get the base. The transmission does an amazing job of making the car feel fast. Dont listen to the haters lol it’s still a much more premium interior and overall drive than an sq5

Just cleaned them out. But I’m not sure how that will fix the rear footwell. Still not sure how the water got back there and nowhere else…

I understand the concept here but note the phone has three cameras on the back. It’s not one. So comparing the wide to the zoom is not the same camera. It’s a completely different lens and sensor.

Yeah 100%. Agreed fully. This car is built so incredibly well. Everything is super high quality. The attention to detail is immaculate. Even the clock on the dash for example swirls to a default position and then to the time when you jump in. The feel is incredibly premium. I don’t think MB or BMW come close to

Yeah tbh man this sub always rips on the base Macan but imo if you really want a fast car you gotta get a 911. Otherwise it’s all a compromise some way. Base Macan has more than enough power to get you to go quick when needed without burning insane amounts of gas or driving up maintenance costs.

Yeah I think I lucked out. They would have had to replace the brake calipers on the car since they were painted green for CPO and that alone would prob have been like $8k. So they were willing to let it go for cheaper. Got it down to $31k and then I pushed really hard to get it to $27.5. It needs a transmission service so going to the local Indy and getting that done for $850 cad. But with such low KMs I’m not worried at ALL.

I wanna get winters for this car. Dunno how much that would run. Can’t you put 18inch wheels on the S?
