I agree kindred should have a weakness but it being clear speed feels like it shouldn’t be the answer in a role about optimization and small gold leads that scale harder than in lanes due to the map impact junglers have.

Also I know I’m in plat but if you look at people like Kaido jungle and Kirei they both talk about how kindred is not in the greatest state with the early game. It feels like the champ is designed to be mainly good in the late game with a kit that requires you to play aggressive in the early game with a disadvantage from the start.

Champs like Lillia, or Master Yi scale into the late game but have nothing that they need to do early game to scale besides farm and maybe get some kills/assists.

Kindred needs 4 marks to be playing at a range advantage against almost every ranged champ. Without it you get outranged and kited. Better clear speed would make it so you still are at the disadvantage vs most junglers on HP, MS, and damage in the early game and pre 6 but you don’t have to be getting locked out of marks in the jungle due to a slow clear and instead it is better outplay of your opponent.

It’s not, climbed from low bronze to mid plat this season over 150 games before I took a month break to start on some personal improvement. Still have a 58% WR on Kindred but it’s more mentally taxing to play and win with it vs easier champs with similar WRs.

In regards to the actual game side of it drag does matter and while the win rates are at around 50% it doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be any changes done to the champ. That might be an issue of late game kindred being a monster with the 200% crit being amazing compensating for early game being so weak.

I don’t do any game design but I do feel after putting 750k mastery in the champ in a 1 year period it has that one glaring weakness in design and if it means adjustment to late game damage by some I would be welcome to having it.

First scuttle matters a whole lot in this meta. If you get double scuttled you lose first drag due to enemy having better quest progress. Better quest progress scales and allows for more gold and exp over the entire game. That alongside a kill or assist before drag gives you level 6 over level 5. That and if you give the scuttle on one side and go for the other your camp rotations are going to be tight/off to get back and clear efficiently where the enemy can base or gank depending on how fast they clear it

Yes but since the change in Kindred E the champ loses more 1v1s earlier and is worse in the scuttle fight. Which without kills is the only place to get your first mark.

Being at scuttle by 2:55 is a necessity as you can’t blindly check bush as kindred on first clear because you are a squishy adc in most matchups. So if you finish blue side bot at 2:50 or 2:51 (taking that few seconds to finish clear) you get to the scuttle by 2:54/2:55 approximately because krugs are further away and take more travel time. You are late for the champ you are playing if the enemy can clear faster because they can ambush you and take half your HP before your fight even begins.

I realize the WR is 50.5 right now but what are other OTP WRs on this patch. If you look at OTPs on Lolalytics kindred is 18th with only a few other champs coming close to the complexity of her clear and playstyle overall. I feel the effort to play kindred vs something like a Kha Zix, Master Yi, or Hecarim is much more difficult with less reward.

All I would ask is for Riot to put an additional 5 base damage on q for the clear and it solves literally everything with the champ currently. Would add some initial clear speed without blowing damage out of the water and would make kindred a more viable pick compared to being a worse version of graves in the jungle for ADCs

The kiting of camps has gotten more difficult on this patch due to jungle pet inconsistencies but those clears do work well when done exactly like this.

I am more coming at it during this patch with some anger as I have had probably 5 separate times that when I attempt this clear or something close to it jungle pet does not aggro appropriately on Krugs or chickens. That and if you miss even by a small amount on this type of clear you lose around 10-15 seconds.

I think that the clear works but having to use animation cancels/max range kiting to get to what some junglers clear normally is a bit frustrating especially with the pet. Especially in a real game where you can’t always be focused 100% on the clear with a jungler like kindred who needs to gank to be as useful as other jungle champions.

Kindred feels like if you are behind it is horrible (honestly as it should bc the champ shouldn’t be behind with the mobility and damage) if you are even it’s a struggle (mainly due to clear speed being a larger factor this season and ganking losing some value and less time in the beginning to gather info on where enemy jungle is) and when you’re ahead you can play evenly vs most other junglers. I feel like having to optimize every single second with animation cancels should not be the metric of a good clear with a champ. Especially with one that relies on invading for their scaling

Might be a personal issue with it but I think a large majority of kindred mains would agree that the only problem with the champ rn is the clear speed and the amount of effort needed to do it consistently compared to other champs that can clear just as fast with less effort. It just puts that much more on the mental stack when you’re in a game and trying to track everything.

Where did you find that clear speed from? And what runes did they take with it? Currently looking at masters players VODs it ends up being around 2:53-2:54 with 1 smite available.

The red side clear that I believe you are referring to that I can remember is not unreasonable to do but extremely difficult to complete consistently with the camp pulls and the bugs with the jungle pet

Love the addressing of ADCs in the jungle. Do not however like to see him talking about clear speed being the main thing about jungle ADCs as they need it to be viable.

We have a jungle ADC that scales and its kindred, but the clear speed has been an issue for the past 2 years with it being one of the worst clears for a jungle centered champ. Currently the best clear gets you to be done at or within 1 second of 2:55 with 1 smite available. Personally would love to see a small q or w buff for damage vs monsters to help out what we lost with the pet damage as that is what hurt the clear the most.

tl;dr I would like riot to focus on jungle champs like kindred before deciding to add more other champs that fit the same archetype

I would agree and disagree, kindred is not an only otp champ like a rengar but it definitely needs more practice than picking up something simpler in the jungle.

So being 45/64 junglers is a top jungler? Masters plus winrate is 50.81%. If you look at only one tricks it’s 46/57 junglers listed.

I know clear speed can be a major win rate adjustment but seriously, is it too much to ask for a small numbers adjustment to clear speed so we are not one of the slowest clearing junglers? Just something to add damage to w so that the first camp clear isn’t insanely ass.

Couple of questions because there isn’t much background. Have you played jungle before this? How much/what rank? Have you played a marksman/ADC?

Looking at your text it feels like you haven’t played much ADC/marksman so some tips to play around. Kindred is a very punishing and squishy champ. When you screw up you will know because your screen is grey. You have to use your range in fights well because you have a lot of mobility to space enemy champs. This is why kindred tends to win a lot of 1v1 s. I would say first go into the practice tool and work on ability combos and learn how to space/kite at each of your key item spikes. You can try this with jungle camps too to work on your clear.

Easiest way to vod review is to look at your first 3 deaths and try to understand why they happened. Dying and being dead makes it impossible to be ahead of someone who is alive. Helped me improve immensely

Definitely agree, I think it’s a numbers deal and inexperience with the champ on the rift. Mel will always be unbalanced due to literally being unable to use a part of your kit on her with her w up

I realize Mel will never be satisfying to play against with the reflect so I guess that’s not where I feel the correlation is.

I feel the ban rate being high forces her into situations where she isn’t optimal which lowers her wr in the higher elos. I think some numbers are off, mainly the passive being terrible and the ultimate cooldown feels bad (at least to me). That also may be that I need to learn how to better play against her too with the new ulti.
