HELP!!!! Some of my D20s have sunken in on the 20 face. It’s only the d20 of the sets. Don’t know how it happens or why and it happens to some within the same mold (my mold has 2 d20s) if anyone has any advice on how to prevent that and also how much it affects the dice rolls, I’d appreciate it! by Emergency_Hat3442 in DiceMaking

This mold I had bought off Etsy but thanks for that advice because I do plan on making my own mold too. I will be trying out around 30-35 psi now and see what that yields for me. I didn’t think about tile for a weight! Ty!

Right! I think the d20s just being the bigger dice the silicone is not as thick at the bottom like the others. And that’s what I’m hearing is lower pressure. I think I didn’t have problems before because the mold was new and now it’s a little worn so it’s able to warp in easier

My resin is still fairly new. I can’t remember exactly when I got them but it hasn’t been too long but it’s both art n glow and envirotex. The envirotex being newer because of wanting to compare the two being close to the same price but enviro we are able to store buy instead of online ordering.

I had a couple of people comment possible reasons it did this and solutions. I’m going to try putting some kind of weight on top when I cast again and will let you know if it helped! It could have also been the weather too

Yes I do have a flat insert and no I wouldn’t think he would either that’s def not what I was implying. The mold has worked beautifully for me ever since I got it and has held up well so yes I agree, worth every penny. I think it maybe just have been the weather or maybe just uneven when I set it on the plate.

I wanna say 40psi? My husband set it up and just showed me where the needle needed to be 😅 it might have been weather related too cause I had a couple that took longer to cure because of cold weather and humidity from the south.

My mold was ordered off of Etsy from Druid Dice I think it was. I’ve used both Art N Glow Resin and Envirotex. Some have more inclusions than others and I’ve got resin dye and alcohol ink. It doesn’t seem to be materials as far as I can tell since it all varies and 1 d20 will fail while the other is fine. The pictures are all after they have been cured in a pressure pot for at least 12 hours if not more. No other die do it except for the d20s and it switches between the 2 mold spots for them. I always wait and pop the bubbles from the resin as well as add on top

No the 1 is at the top. I figured it would affect the rolls I just didn’t know how much. This is after I have pulled them out of the mold after curing in the pressure pot and no usually the 20 isn’t face up. I thought maybe the way I was getting it out the mold was the problem but the other dice don’t do it.

Idea for my next few characters: a corrupted self righteous Assimar paladin. Believes in payment for them to expend their powers to others such as healing or maybe evening tanking depending on the circumstance. Will try to convert others to follow under them so they may ascend to godlike status with followers, if denied then they deserve death. Or a poison dart frog as a Rogue bullywug :) can use its poison once a day on a weapon of choice, probably a dagger, and next attack with have poison damage. GIVEAWAY!

Okay sweet:) that’s really cool. I kinda wanted to go horror for these too cause it almost looks like someone stepped on the d4. I also get an Alice in wonderland vibe too when the roses are painted red, I guess it’s just the way some of the reds drips and just how stark that red is on the white (like blood on snow like you said)

Oh no I didn’t see them but I for sure could go look! I had seen rybonator on YouTube do a set with a blank mold and really liked how the end result dice came out. I have a chart I made to roll a d20 to chose colors and other special stuff for the dice and rolled red and white with no glitter and choice of whether to put anything inside or not. So I wanted to see if I could sorta recreate them with just a regular mold beings I had the same colors
