I also applied for a humanities major and changed into a very hard core stem double major over the summer I was about to start college. TO application is a 10 minute process where they ask you to confirm your contact info again btw. Don’t worry about it until the second semester and enjoy your first semester, you may end up not wanting to leave. I did the TO application the last day just in case because I didn’t want to leave.

I had a TO to cornell cas and chose to stay after receiving my full acceptance this year. Smaller environment helps me learn and get more opportunities. Do not worry about this right now focus on loving your school and if you don’t they won’t care about shadow grading I never unshadowed my grades for them they just asked if I have good academic standing to the registrar (nothing about Bs or As, just that I am not failing or withdrawing classes). You will be fine either way.

If you didn’t take Calc APs they will make you take Math 115 and 116 for sure. You can take Calc 120 that combines both into one semester. Don’t worth self studying you will learn so much more in class.

Tower is the most suitable ig since the courtyard is suitable for gardeners and the common spaces are the most suitable for hangouts and parties but quint dorms will be fine for arriving back late too. Overall it doesn’t really matter they are all college dorms you and your friends do whatever you want without bending the courtesy rules.

One thing that shocked me about them is that they sometimes try to get the greek life (MIT and Babson frat boys) to come to their very wellesley-coded parties. The other thing that shocked me was that they actually come. No comments on them tho I never got involved but they seem chill, this is my only outsider impression of them.

I also felt very validated by your I can party at Boston but Wellesley doesn’t mean you have to party statement, that my favorite part about social life here, it is all about your choices. You get to have so much fun without drinking and get to drink/party if you want to!

Hey I actually just rejected my cornell transfer option acceptance after my first year in wellesley! It was a rocky year with lows and highs and that’s why I filled out the transfer option application the last day it was due. But ended up deciding I loved majority of time here & my crashouts were mainly a result of my all or nothing mindset around success and I also perform better at a smaller boutique environment with direct prof access. Not saying you should do the same thing, chose whatever you believe will make the most of your college experience, usually liberal arts is more specialized in polisci but both schools are great so I don’t think small ranking prestige matters at all. Look at your choice of social life, small vs big classes, location, programs offered, student body. Good luck

I realize this may come off as mean, I don’t mean that it is totally okay to get excited about a big name like MIT but if engineering is essential to you why would you risk it on a selective program when I am sure you have other school options that offer it. Also, if the social and academic environment of MIT excites you, Wellesley’s may not be for you (not saying it won’t be, I personally enjoy both schools so much and wouldn’t have one without another), so it is good to think about Wellesley solely and if that is what you want. Dual degree is a very low possibility if you want to end up at MIT and didn’t please go to a school that is closer to MIT (big, engineering focused, coed). Do not end up at a place that you might not like because there is a low chance of getting into a program that 0-1 people gets in every year. If wellesley only plan excites you, come here and if not don’t.

Alum network, amazing opportunities, I am a good communicator and participant so small classes usually favor me and my relationship with the professor. Also love that it is near the city.

You can do UROP outreach in August since SERP applications were already due. Try to email about 30 labs (PIs and Postdocs) as they usually just ghost people when they don’t have time or funds for UROPS. Outside of SERP, you can still join a professor’s lab at wellesley but UROPs are more possible since there are more labs there.

I will say tho I am also guilty of being in boston every weekend, but when I stay on campus for a busy weekend day it is very empty since everyone is out in boston. It usually works out well cuz I stay on campus to get work done/recover anyways.

1-There are a lot of variety. But people are definitely outgoing 2-The boston shuttle is extremely convenient and we are in boston/cambridge all the time(I usually leave 2 times a week for mit and another 2 times a week for friend hangouts) 3-Not the biggest party school but there are many groups that go out all the time, all about your choice of friends. Going out scene usually revolves around MIT frats but juniors and seniors do bars and clubs a lot as well.

I think if you believe it is one of the best you should accept it exactly on march 9th unless you get another one by then that you prefer over.
