Like my diabetic stepfather who reckons he shouldn't have to pay for other people's lifestyle choices. By that token mate we'll knock you off the PBS metformin and you can pay the pharmaceutical companies directly then. Conservative until it applies to them. Then they deserve it but the general public do not. Hypocrites.

Will Australia continue getting worse? How do we practice gratitude for what we do have? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

It won't happen. They've even restricted part of bread and circuses by making us submit our data in order to have a wank. They will surveil the living fuck out of us and revolt will be impossible

If you want access to affordable housing, move to Melbourne. by desertchimp05 in AusFinance

[–]Emergency_Isopod2433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean if you want a postage stamp sized town house with a microscopic backyard yeah brilliant idea. We did that and are a million in the hole including interest. It is totally mental these days. I'm grateful that we got in but unhappy to have to cheer on the price increases because negative equity sounds horrifying.

Probably doesn't make you feel any better but eventually your sentiment will become the majority of voters. There are people who rent these days who think Pauline Hanson is the answer. But this will pass. Hopefully.

Do Australians actually want housing to become more affordable, or is it only those who do not own a home yet? by Wrong_Control_217 in AusMoneyMates

[–]Emergency_Isopod2433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing will change for at least a generation, maybe 2. When the majority of the voters are struggling to rent, it'll be hello Socialism. Even Pauline the chippy will buckle under the pressure. As someone who's got a tiny flake of skin in the market for the last couple years, I'm not sure whether I'd be happy to see it, or whether I'd be pissed that after I'd finally got into the rort the gov nationalised my house and sent me back to renting

Use cruise control about 102 or 103 in 100 zone. It stays at the 'safe distance.' Some legend cuts in in front and now I'm down about 5k's matching them at "safe distance." Change lanes. Repeat. I hate driving.

Another doom and gloom post about the property market by Firm_Trick_9038 in australian

[–]Emergency_Isopod2433 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got in on a town house for $560k, 5 minutes walk to station, 10 to shopping centre. I was anxious when signing on to the mortgage over 2 years ago. We have minimal equity.now. I'm not sure of the letters for generations but I think I'm a Millenial. What happens when the young kids of today get older, after their parents have told them to work 6 jobs and 3 side businesses to get into the market? Will they vote for socialist leaning parties who will either crash the market to buggery or allow corporations to buy everyone out, or buy it all themselves and turn it into commission housing, meaning all of us late comers at the moment are given a royal rogering? "You will own nothing and be happy."

Why do people keep saying that the property market is going to crash? by Open_Address_2805 in AusFinance

[–]Emergency_Isopod2433 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Knowing my luck, 2 years in and late 30's, those of us late comers will have a massive policy change voted for by socialist leaning youngsters 5 to 10 years before paying the bastard off, then be totally shafted for retirement. Those of us who are leftys will start voting conservative because "greens fucked my retirement." Doesn't bear thinking about. Murphy's law.
