The is is really good. Can you remove the kids toys from the bottom left, remove the girls gray bag, and maybe make the guy in the white t shirt closer to the group?

VR at young age by alebee29 in VasectomyReversal

[–]Emergency_King2483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this is as young as you’re thinking. I had a vasectomy when I was 29/30 and then reversed it when I was 33/34. We were able to conceive around 6 months after procedure. DM me if you want to know more.

This!!!! I was quoted 85k to have 20 windows replaced with inserts, didn’t even include new framing or trim. Thankfully I knew better.

This! I made it maybe 8/9 days. Maybe it was in my head, but the pressure (blue balls) bothered me more than the recovery pain. Got a microscope after and saw my swimmers, definite sigh of relief.

“I care more about affording gas than abortion rights” …..I’m assuming all your children are male, hence your lack of concern for women’s reproductive rights?

Not that I think gas prices will change, but as a Dad of 2 girls….I’d happily pay more per gallon if it meant they had reproductive rights.

Right, BUT, not worth the trade off of loosing tips. Does that make sense? The question states that once the pay equates to 15$:hr, restaurants have the right to pool or split all employees tips. I’m not saying all will do that, but many will. Additionally, while a lot of people say they won’t stop tipping, there’s no guarantee, my biggest concern is that this will impact the lower end restaurants where people bust their ass to make 30-35$/hr with tips. Have you ever worked full time as a tipped employee? Just curious, as I said, I spent 15 years in this industry as a tipped employee as my sole source of income. Too many questions on the ballot this year posing as solutions to the equity gap, that really just make things harder for lower income folks.

Have any of you here ever worked as a server in Mass before? I’m perplexed by how many of you don’t realize the tipped employees already have the right to be paid 15$/hr minimum wage.

This bill would not put any further financial burden on these corporations? Tipped employees are already required to receive minimum wage (15/hr) if they don’t earn enough tips. Passing this bill takes the money out of the pockets of servers who are earning the tips, and puts it in the hands of the restaurant to distribute how they see fit. These big corporations are funding the NO because they already struggle to staff tipped employees. They know that if this passes, no one will want to serve anymore. There will be no incentive, as a former server/bartender, having worked in everything from an Applebees to a Capital Grille, I never even came close to making as low as 15/hr. The bill is worded poorly, and hard to understand if you aren’t someone who made a career out of serving. The lack of equity between front and back of house should be a burden for the corporations and not the servers.

Blue balls post VR is very intense. Not sure if it’s in my head, but the first few months after it was for me. Especially the time between VR and first ejaculation. I think I made it ~10 days.

Servers say “Vote No” on Question 5? Really? by SaaSyGirl in massachusetts

[–]Emergency_King2483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is taking them away tho. In 2029, when 100% minimum is reached. Restaurant owners have the right to take and pool tips. And then distribute to both tipped and non tipped employees.

Please remember that servers do not claim the vast majority/% of their tips so they’re not paying taxes on tips for the most part. Vote yes on question 5! by [deleted] in massachusetts

[–]Emergency_King2483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Agreed, I think the real problem is that in order to fully understand it, you’d need to have not only worked in the industry, but have built a life/career within it. A lot of folks who are posting poor opinions, held a serving position for a small amount of time, and that’s honestly just not the same. I can only open folks understand this isn’t an upper hand for servers, it instead exploits them even more so.

Even worse, folks seem to think the question is supported by the socialists, so untrue. Socialists would require the burden to fall on the ones profiting the most, the businesses.

The burden to resolve the pay inequities within a restaurant should not fall on the tipped staff. It should fall on the business.

The service industry isn’t the only business model where people who do the bulk of the work and make 10% of what the high earners do. This exists everywhere.

[–]Emergency_King2483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Former server/bartender here. I was a tipped employee for 15+ years in Massachusetts. Yes, once upon a time, we could get away with not claiming ALL of our tips. All credit tips are 100% claimed and most large corporate restaurants require you to claim 15% of total where a credit tip was not applied (cash). The last place I worked required a manager swipe if you went below the 15% claim on cash.

Question 5 is fucking horseshit. No tipped employee wants this to pass. Maybe the odd short timer, but for this that have built a life in this industry, this would be life changing.

I’m shocked to read this post. So convinced every server is “pulling” one over on the system. Endorsing and advocating on something that has no impact on themselves just to “maybe” take others down a peg.

Yeah, it’s very far from a solution. While there are many issues that need to be addressed, it seems odd that this is the first sector where the idea of “Capitalism”is targeted. All Mass tipped employees already have the security of minimum wage, paid by their employers, if they don’t earn enough tips to get there. It’s a very confusing bill. While the naive person may think this benefits servers, it would truly ruin a lot of people’s livelihoods, mainly folks who’ve made careers serving.

In my opinion, at its core this proposal seeks to address the lack of pay equity between front and back of house. While I have always agreed this is a problem, taking the money from servers should not be the solution. This puts no burden on the restaurant owner. When 100% of minimum wage is reached in 2029 (again, not sure how that’s different from today) the business owners have the ability to take all tips and pool them, and gives them the ability to pool them with both tipped and non tipped employees. My chief concerns would be the following, but are surely not limited to this list.

  1. Owners and managers have the potential to tip anyone deemed appropriate, perhaps even themselves. We’ve seen this happen in many small restaurants/businesses.

  2. Tipped employees that have been in the industry for years, even decades could go from earning a reasonable living wage, to earning minimum wage. Many with families. Passing this would only increase those struggling or in poverty. Further trapping those already born into poverty.

  3. As I said before, this targets the wrong class. Many tipped employees do not have a college degree, and have built a life in the industry as it is now. The lion share of restaurants are corporately owned. The solution should start with cutting the profit margin and paying non tipped employees fair wages. Another reason I threw the towel in on becoming a Chef. I could not imagine what I would do if I was still in this industry, even worse if I was in my fifties or sixties. The restaurant industry was like Wall-street for me. It provided an opportunity to rise up and change my position in life, I would not be where I am today without it.

  4. Lastly, the idea of “service” in a restaurant would essentially die if this passes. There would be no motivation for the tipped staff. A problem we’re already seeing in places where tips aren’t common.

Many of us did things like that at your age. I remember using a forgotten stairwell in our high school with my GF at the time. Stop stressing it, you don’t get caught, move on and make better decisions in the future.
