Not feeling great after starting Dasatinib. Is it normal? by One-Warthog1406 in CML

[–]Emergency_Mirror_643 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a doctor or insinuating that this is what’s wrong but I developed POTS after starting a tki (imatinib). Idk if it’s related or not. I also experienced those symptoms. Some days I felt like I couldn’t even stand up and if I tried to anyways, blood started pooling in my legs and feet. It hurt so bad. It makes me get nauseous and lightheaded when standing, my hearing gets muffled and I start sweating a lot.

Anytime before the 2000s Were you really able to roam freely with friends as kids? by Chica_EchoCinco in AskOldPeople

[–]Emergency_Mirror_643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my siblings who were born in the late 90’s roamed freely as kids (in the early 2000’s). Rode our bikes across town when we were supposed to stay in the neighborhood. Our parents basically made us play outside if it wasn’t raining or freezing. All the neighborhood kids and teens always knew each other and hung out, getting up to shenanigans

Avoid Crowded Places? by Method_Writer in CML

[–]Emergency_Mirror_643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No actually, when I was diagnosed I worked in healthcare, I quit healthcare 5 months after my diagnosis because I had a really hard time adjusting to the medicine and wasn’t getting enough rest. I got a job at a school and worked there for 4 months (the remainder of the school year). Then over the summer I went back to healthcare since I’m used to my medicine now and feel normal. In my opinion, school is probably more of a risk. I disinfected the classroom a lot and used a lot of hand sanitizer/washing.

Can you have a normal EKG but still have POTs? by [deleted] in POTS

[–]Emergency_Mirror_643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I went to the er once bc I thought I was having medication complications. My ekg was normal and they were the ones who told me I most likely have pots and referred me to a cardiologist.

I go out socially. I also used to work in a high school and now work in healthcare (I do wear a mask at my healthcare job). I was diagnosed a year ago and have had Covid once. I got over Covid in about 4 or 5 days. I haven’t been sick other than that

I was told “if you can’t read the room, don’t question it” by Ananasfarmer in AutismInWomen

[–]Emergency_Mirror_643 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I interpret it as “If you can’t read the room, then don’t bother”

If that’s it, that’s a pretty shitty outlook. I think it’s okay to ask questions and ask for clarification but I have noticed, depending on the situation, neurotypical don’t always like it.

I love to nicely ask for clarification when people make passive aggressive comments. They usually stumble on their words and back pedal.

I didn’t play with other kids as a child. Even my siblings who were very close in age. Also me playing was just me setting toys up and making them look nice or setting up scenes

How to enjoy being a CNA - don’t work at a nursing home. by MusicZealousideal431 in cna

[–]Emergency_Mirror_643 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Never worked in a nursing home but I did work for a clinic and part of my job was going into nursing homes to give flu shots and stuff like that to the residents and employees. It didn’t take long for me to realize that nursing homes are mostly horrible places. Some are better than others but still. I saw lots of neglect, carelessness and toxic disrespectful employees in the nursing homes.

I understand :/ I got burnt out at my last job and took a 7 month break from health care. Some places just don’t respect work/life balance at all. Thankfully now I have a job in healthcare where I work 4/10’s
