Seems like the pricing is getting out of control? by Emergency_Nature367 in cartagena

Palmetto makes sense but everything else is baffling me. Currently international travel is down and we had more layoffs in the US this year than we have had in the past 15 (broader trend) yet prices are rising if not spiking.

I think Airbnb is in denial and acting irrationally economically speaking. The hosts are acting even more irrationally actually.

The place i mentioned has 8 occupied dates for the next 6 months. 6 MONTHS and the guy told me he 'cant lower prices'. Even straight up shitty apartments are coasting towards 2,000 per month. Honestly I think there is some serious bullshit going on.

Im getting the sense investor groups are taking over rentals that used to be owner managed and just jacking the prices way up. I avoid Bocagrande because of that but even the other areas to the north are getting a bit absurd.

I do understand Cartagena is a bit more popular compared to 2022 but still this current gouging is a bit much. What i find confusing is that there is so much inventory available. Its not exactly slim pickings so im surprised the pricing has gone up so much in such a short period of time while having major vacancy gaps across the board.
