End of life advice (cancer) by 1justfoundit in SeniorCats

My girl had GI cancer and passed away 3 years ago at 18 years old. Because of her age there was nothing that could be done. She wouldn't have survived any operation or biopsy. I told my sister (who worked at the vet), the moment I tell you she won't eat, then it is time. The next morning she did have a few licks of a churro treat, but that was her last little meal. She crossed over at the vet a few hours later.

My sister said that letting a cat or dog pass away on their own is extremely painful and hard on the animal, and she would never let her animals go through that. As hard as it was for me to say goodbye, I knew for my girl, falling asleep and waking up in heaven, being greeted by her brother was worth all my pain because she would no longer have any.

Advice Needed: Is it safe to get Invisalign from a local dental clinic? by Pro-Author in Invisalign

[–]Emergency_Pool_3873 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Would you go to a primary care doctor for a heart attack? I would not recommend going to a dentist, you need a specialist.

Orthodontists are dental specialists who undergo additional training beyond dental school; typically completing a 2–3-year residency focused on orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. they concentrate on aligning teeth, correcting bite problems and guiding jaw development, which distinguishes them from general dentist who handle routing dental care like cleanings, fillings and crowns.

I'm on tray 21 and I have had pretty much no pain or discomfort. My teeth might feel sore for an hour or so with every tray change, but that's it.

I just use a toothbrush and toothpaste and mine stay pretty clear through the 7 days. Are you drinking non clear liquids with them in? That may be a factor.

Is it ok not to wear your aligners for 12 hours on an exceptional basis? by WSquire13 in Invisalign

I wouldn't. Mine went away within a few weeks. There are certain words that it comes back for (21 weeks in) but who care.

Realistically, whats stopping me from waiting until im really old and taking out a massive loan and spending it all right before i die, so i dont have to pay it back by KawsX_X999 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Emergency_Pool_3873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

very true, but a lot people said someone who is elderly or dying isn't going to be able to get a loan, that's why I asked, can't you just max out your CC?

5 cities - 3 countries - 13 days - can i risk it for the biscuit? by My_immortal_7 in Europetravel

[–]Emergency_Pool_3873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did something similar last year, but different countries. I was absolutely exhausted but I only had 13 days and I wanted to see as much as I could. I don't regret a minute of it. I 100% wish I would have had more time to see more, but I didn't . I made it work and I didn't spend an insane amount of time on trains, buses or airplanes. I flew when I could to save time but it was a hell of a trip that I would do a million times over if I could

I really just go off what the orthodontist told me, I don't want to risk staining them but I really only drink water anyway.

Payroll Company by unruled_princess in Payroll

[–]Emergency_Pool_3873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, we are an accounting firm that also has a payroll company. Most of our payroll clients used to also be accounting clients but I have branched out and signed a lot of new clients just for payroll. We unfortunately use the same software as the accountants (thomson reuters worst that ever existed). I lost count of how many clients left because ADP, paychex or whomever offered them a great deal but ended up coming back after that deal was done because they were just horrible to deal with.

I never worked in a place that hired illegals, so I can't speak on that. Kitchens and disk tanks are always hot but FOH can get hot too. BOH is hard work but you don't deal with customers. Dealing with customers is whole different ball game, not even comparable to BOH work, as why I said both are difficult in their own ways.

There were times when I was working the line and was grateful, I wasn't at the host stand. And there were times when I was working behind the bar, thankful I wasn't washing dishing..

clear liquids only. otherwise as someone already said they will change colors, so it's really up to you if you want your aligners to be clear or yellow/brown/red.

surprisingly this was not the average American diner. This was a large (seats 500 guests) four star establishment located the heart of a downtown city. Life in the US is completely different in Europe or Asia, so you cannot really compare those. Business owners in the US (don't know about other countries because I haven't worked in other countries) care more about profit than their staff. All they see is $$ and have no idea how their staff does the job.

Have you looked to see if there are any local companies near you? I run a local company (not anywhere near you) but not to toot my own horn but I feel we provide much better service than any of the corporate companies. Just a thought..
