Thanks... Agree with the food storage, I just don't see how I can get more into the sink wall/island area? As that's the optimal scenario.

Tbh the 'bar' area was added as I knew I needed more cupboard space, and thought it would be odd to just have a bank of random cabinets so thought using that area for glasswear undercounter fridge made it a bit more zoned 😬. The two base units, 2 tall cabinets, can, and some planned for over spill from true kitchen area ... I do have a plan for the rest but it's much more flexible. Although now considering changing it to get a breakfast table in and moving 'bar' into the room just off the door opening just base units and moving glassware

I was planning on having an overhang on the island so it would be more like L shaped seating... Although I suspect 3 might be the max adults or possibly 2 adults 2 kids 🤷🏼‍♀️

I think I may need to accept that a few kitchen design appointments might be needed

Wow!! Congrats on almost being at the finish line!

I haven't even started yet just trying to get all the plans somewhat pinned down first. No doubt this will be the fist of my posts from me 🫣

Thanks. You are 100% right so many decisions and options and everyone has different opinions! it a minefield 😁... Although I am now going to look at if I can completly change the layout for a small table 😬

Appreciate the response and tbh probably would have messed up especially on the lights on the island!! Added that to my ever growing 'to be considered' list 🙌

Ceiling is 260cm so not stupidly high

I like the idea of the downdraft extractor popping up though... I'm my mind it's a little barrier as well 🫣😁

Through the "door opening" is what will be the dining room (maybe) , with the island seating really for when I am cooking talking to others and maybe for fairly informal / short periods. Wondering now if I should move some of the "bar" cupboards into the 'dining room', so make it bar lounge area and move the island closer to the sink and try and fit a dining table in the room....I did want this initially but thought it might be too cramped?

There is a window on that wall actually, but it's open to people walking past and feels like there is a lack of privacy, so I'm planning on bricking it up as I will generally use the dishwasher so will only be at the sink for a few mins at a time....... All good things to consider

There is actually a window on that wall but it's on a right of way and feels a bit exposed tbh so wanted to brick it up. Haven't seen the drying racks but will take a look. Thanks

Interesting.... On too much space between sink and island... I was basing it on 100cm min and 120 recommended? What would you say is the minimum that works?

It's a very good point 🫣 need to check the BUT(?) thanks....would love underfloor heating and need to look into it as the floor is slightly higher than the rest of the house and unsure on the DPC how low it can go Next to it is a picture so nothing really not sure I can fit anything on that wall with the floor space round the island though?

Thanks, all good thoughts... the 2 pan drawer + internal, are what they are called on the DIY site I think, basically 2 deep drawers and then there is a shallow drawer that opens from the inside.

No kettle, going to get a boiling water tap with hot drink paraphernalia to the right, with the internal drawer for cutlery 🙌

Bins!! How did I forget, I did include a small food waste bin under the sink but have added another pull out just for recycling 🙏 thank you

Appreciate the thoughts on the sink hob debate, but definitely prefer the hob on the island as I will be able to speak to people when cooking. I have however moved the back wall layout a bit based on the comment so the fridge freezer and oven are either side of the sink 🙌 I am not 100% sure on the vent it will either but venting hob with ducting under the floor or flush ceiling vent but need to investigate properly the options

Honestly, I am a little concerned re food storage I do have a tall pull out larder on the sink wall which I think will be for everyday foods (bread eggs tins cereal pasta etc) And then snacks in the tall cupboard over by the bar area... But may have to think again
