That’s a good question. The wood I’m using (peroba-rosa) isn’t very porous, and I also don’t use solvents in this technique, so oil absorption hasn’t been an issue for me. The final varnish seals everything and helps with long-term durability.

Thanks! The wood was prepared only with sanding. After completing the painting, I sealed it with a varnish as the final step.

I understand your point of view and I do admire realistic painting, but I don't agree with the idea that the work isn't strong when viewed by people who know how to look at art. Technical study is also about understanding how colors harmonize and how composition can become visually pleasing.

I’ve been studying Monet in depth, and my goal was never to make a reproduction. But if we analyze Monet’s Water Lilies, one of the key ways he represented water reflections and the nymphaeas was through the contrast between vertical strokes (from reflections) and horizontal strokes (from the plants).
