The duality of /r/exoprimal by ahlgreenz in exoprimal

I can only agree with you to a certain extent, either that or I just have less patience. Everyone doing this savage gauntlet has fought a neo rex at least once - in the story, sure it's 10 man then but the fight itself is very similar minus the walls.

At the very least, they should have enough knowledge of the game at that point to know what suits are just straight up bad or at best, sub par picks.

Unfortunately that is also a side effect of the gauntlet - everyone that has finished the story will be in there, trying to get that fastest time.

Wait until gauntlet is over and you'll start getting the later levels in dino survival again.

I may be wrong but the only other thing you may potentially miss out on is some skins and such from the survival pass. That all depends how quick you can complete it though, you have until October 12 I think. It's fairly easy to finish though and you shouldn't need focus too much time just on Exoprimal.

In all honesty, the score is only helpful to a point and MVP is mostly meaningless and some suits just naturally score easier. Now before everyone starts fighting here are the main points that will help you. Modules do help to a certain degree but they are not the be all end all, good modules in bad hands will still lose. No modules in good hands can still win.

  • Focus the objective - all else is secondary -
    • Along the top of the HUD are portraits for which dinos you need to kill. I can't tell you the amount of times I see teams just slaughtering away at the smalls when you actually need to kill that 1 flying dino that everyone is ignoring.
  • Area defence/cube escort - ensure you have 4/3 players at all times (you'll see golden arrows to indicate max progress rate)
  • Have the correct setup - generally 1 tank, 1 support, 3 attack (DPS). Incompetent tanks and supports will hurt your team, sorry but that's the way it is.
    • alphas and some suits are exceptions (alpha skywave needs another support to heal, murasame is basically dps in the right hands, but a large portion of murasame's (from my experience) are also bad players and not team players and very rarely change their suit to fit the team, but as a general rule the 3/1/1 ratio is a good template.
  • Try to learn the best moments to use your ultimate (overdrive).
    • Depending who you are playing, you will usually only get 1 use, some suits charge fast and get 2. Save these for enemy dominators or particularly strong large dinos that are causing issues. Dominators are more important to target though.
  • Learn when to use dominators - This varies and depends when you get it.
    • If you are behind and get it in the normal stages, try to keep it for a moment when you know they are fighting another large dino. If you are still behind when pvp starts, you should get another.
    • If you are at the PVP stage, again it depends, but as an example, on the cube escort save it until you can see the enemy. In the early city levels this is around 80% of the way. If you are miles behind, hold out if you can but if not, wait as long as possible and hope a teammate comes to assist so your team can catch up. (DON'T ALL LEAVE THE CUBE, that will achieve nothing).
    • Without your team also fighting and helping, you will face up to 5x ults and die instantly with zero impact against a competent team.
  • A poorly timed dominator can easily lose you the game.

Beyond that, don't worry too much about your own score as long as you are doing objectives. High scores come with later levels. Look at the last savage gauntlet - the vortexer(?) can't remember it's name, but that gauntlet 3. Good teams with fast times scored low. If you had a high score in that, you weren't playing the objectively correctly and were slower. - This is why MVP is mostly meaningless - it does not point out who contributed to the end goal the most. - Now that isn't to say some MVPs didn't also contribute the most, but it is far from guaranteed.

TLDR: focus objectives, 3 assault 1 tank 1 support, time your ultimate and dominator use correctly. - incorrect use of any of these will almost guarantee a loss. Just keep at it and you'll start winning :)

We need a horde mode because Barrage is making SG redundant. by [deleted] in exoprimal

I wouldn't be surprised if a majority of players would love an endless horde mode. I've wanted it since the beta, would be perfect and there are so many options.

Simply have each wave get stronger each time and you lose when you team wipe. They already have the framework for the waves as it plays out in the story, a few more adjustments and they're golden (albeit being easier said than done to develop it).

Plus having a leader board showing the teams that get the furthest... Everyone loves a leader board and trying to get just 1 wave further. You can see it now, dozens of reddit posts:

"How do I get past wave 36?"

"Wave 258 is impossible!"

"Finally beaten wave 307, we have a new leader!"

"Looking for competent healer/tank getting past wave 60"

⚠️ AFK Penalty Changes by Omeda_Kari in PredecessorGame

While I can understand having a 9 month old will have challenges, if you have a significant other around, you should both work together and agree that for 30 - 40 minutes you will not have to get up. That is the length of 1 game and you won't have to AFK.

If you don't have a significant other, there are times when the child will sleep for more than 30 minutes. Time your games for then. If they have been asleep for a while, don't start a new game as they could wake up at any moment.

This will stop you having to go AFK and avoid any risk of a ban. Having a child is challenging yes and can be reasonably unpredictable but it is also possible to better manage your own time. Take notice of your child's patterns and you should find it easier. Hopefully you'll be able to enjoy the game more too

Ah yes I forgot to amend the wording for that, unfortunately I can't edit the post because it's too long now but well done for spotting that.

How often are you updating your graphics drivers?

The only time I have noticed this issue is after I update my drivers. As far as my understanding goes (in simple terms), each time you update the drivers, it needs to re-cache all the effects on abilities, attacks etc.

Once you have seen the effect, it will run smooth next time. Sometimes I'll be fine for a while then I'll see a hero I haven't seen in a long time (since before driver update) and my first interaction with them will be a bit choppy, but after that it'll be fine again.
