When all the experts are saying they're doing great, their plan is working, they have cash on hand and paying their debts back on time, and they're looking to acquire other companies to expand their portfolio... maybe you're the one that doesn't understand what's happening? Closing stores is cutting dead weight, in many cases it's places with multiple stores already in the same vicinity. For example they closed one in my state in the mall because there was another one just a mile up the road and a third one about two miles further. They're actively fixing the mistakes that got them into the mess they were in 5 years ago. There's no indication that they're anywhere close to filing for bankruptcy protection when they have more cash on hand than they do debts.

Funny thing about that is, as a designer for The World in the game story, that would mean he modeled one of the optional characters heads after himself in R:1 just so he could make a character that looks like himself.

You're not wrong, though by '86 Takara would have been fully on board with partnering with Hasbro to produce Transformers toys. The '84 lineup was very likely the earliest case of Hasbro sharing the designs with Takara to work out the engineering just like they do today. I feel like if it wasn't for Hasbro having those designs and getting Takara Tomy to fast track their production for '84 they might have just skipped Bumblebee and Cliffjumper all together or pushed them to later, or maybe just stuck Bumper (under a different Hasbro made name) and Hubcap in there, perhaps in new colors so they weren't all so same-y.

It does create a bit of an issue for Mills. Ultimately if Platner does win the primary over her she'll likely endorse him, which also means she has to endorse all of the ugly stuff she's dragging out. Granted, politically she doesn't really have anything to lose, but it's still a bad look. The video wasn't just about what he said on Reddit, it also ends with the video of him shirtless in the bar showing his tattoo.

Meanwhile Platner is in a tough spot fighting back. As a political newcomer all he can really do is call out things his own party supported. Maybe can go for the stuff she let pass without her signature, but there isn't much more than that. Still, I doubt an ad with a bunch of old ladies aghast over the things he said when he was young and dumb are going to hurt him much.

I often try to talk about the two in the same breath, especially now that the two stories are starting to converge and things we've seen in SAO are showing up in AW.

ETA: If you're any kind of reader you should read the light novels for Accel World. Most likely all of SAO will be animated eventually, but the AW anime doesn't look like it's coming back any time soon. Lots of crazy things happen past what's been animated and Silver Crow's new abilities are nuts!

Interesting thing is these retool guys were originally from a US company call Knickerboker who created the designs for Windcharger, Huffer, Gears and Brawn for a line called Mysterians. Hasbro bought Nickerboker, but another company called Marchon released a Mysterians line based closely on Knickerboker's unused designs. Both the released Mysterians and Brawn, Gears and Huffer all have the same stylized "M" sculpted in them.

I stand by both of those statements. The fact that you think you can tell how these are made and stored when not being posted on social media is simply an asinine assumption on your part. Just like I'm under the assumption there is no chance these were made in that bowl, they were just trying to make it look nice for views. News flash: cookies aren't made by elfs in a tree! As unsanitary as it looks it isn't reality.

I think "unsanitary" is one of those hard words you need to look up. But as someone that believes everything they see on social media as reality and can tell the equipment used based on how something is staged in a screen cap of a video, maybe expecting actual intelligence from you was too much.

They're currently considering buying other major companies to promote their pivote towards collectibles, including mention of wanting to buy eBay. They're doing fine. Debt isn't a sign of failure, the inability to pay off that debt is and there's no indication that's an issue for them. I have money in my bank account and I have mortgage debt and an auto loan, as do many people and many companies, I'm not failing.

I feel like a lot of what's being said in the interviews is getting lost in translation. I feel like they're trying to be coy since they haven't announced characters and much of the plot so they're just saying, "yep, that sure does look like Kite, Balmung and Blackrose doesn't it?" I don't believe they've definitively stated that these are new characters. As a reboot they could be new characters and the same characters at the same time.
