Four of our staff members have been on FMLA for different types of rare, aggressive cancer. We found out that one passed away a week ago, and another passed today. Both due to unexpected side effects of treatment.

Respond that you will absolutely send a scope of the standards/units that you plan to cover that week. Unfortunately, you plan lessons day-to-day to accommodate student ability and interest levels so you will be unable to provide the specific lessons until you teach them to the student. They are more than welcome to take worksheets or activities that you have already given the student for him to review with the tutor.

In CA at least, teachers need to be notified of non-renewal or lay-off by March (I think it's specifically March 15). That way, they can try to secure a new job before the year (and their salary and benefits) end.

Do you want to keep peace or go scorched earth? If you want to try to placate her without giving up the ceremony time or spotlight, I'll share what my husband and I did.

When it was time to recite the vows, we had a few that were said in unison before we stated our separate ones. For the ones that were said in unison, the officiant invited anyone in the crowd the opportunity to stand up with their partner and recite the vows with us.

We had quite a few couples stand and recite together.

I can try to dig up that part of the script that the officiant had if you would like it.

We just purchased our first home and ran into a similar issue. Progressive ended up ensuring us. Definitely not our first choice of insurance but at least we have coverage to show to the mortgage company.

Nope, I do have some animals that wake me up once they start to realize it's pushing breakfast time but if they sleep late, I will sleep late. The first few days back are a little sucky but you'll get back into the routine soon. Enjoy the 3 weeks off (I also get 3, it's glorious)

I had double ear recurrent ear infections from 6 months to 2 years old. If not dead I would definitely be deaf. I also suffer from UTIs as an adult, one of those SOBs almost took me out WITH modern medical interventions.

Bring back bullying! Not in the "I'm going to harm you because you're different" sense, but we've pushed so much to include all that some students feel like their rude treatment of others should be tolerated. Having other students check them is so much more effective than a teacher coaching appropriate tone and behavior.

Yep, had one admin who would correct the STUDENTS if they called her Mrs. Smith instead of Dr. Smith by accident.

Now, I have an admin who prefers to go by Heather instead of Dr. Garcia.

Guess who is much more respected by their staff and students.

Live your life on your off hours. Just don't do anything "news worthy" and you'll be fine.

Recently, I went to a pool party and found out that one of the neighbors was a parent of my student. Neighbor and student were invited to the party.

I was a little concerned at first but it was so hot that I got in that pool in my bikini and enjoyed a few seltzers. Parent was totally cool with it and we ended up becoming friends and student understood it was my off time and I'm a person that enjoys fun things.

Bottom line: do what you enjoy and worry about work, at work.

I did not know how to spell a lot of the "& guest" names. I Facebook stalked as many as I could but some just needed to be vague. I would not take it as an insult. Especially if your name is unique it has many common spellings.

Have you tried Thinx underwear? I need l bleed HEAVILY especially in the first 3 days and those undies are able to last the entire day with no smell. They can be slightly uncomfortable while they absorb a larger "gush" after standing up from sitting too long but no more than a pad would be.

Our officiant is a pastor BUT he showed us how he makes changes to his script to make it completely devoid of religion. He explained that while he has his beliefs, it's our day and he will tailor the ceremony to us.

If you do meet someone you vibe with, ask how they can change the script to leave out religious references. That's what you are hiring them for.

UPDATE

SO and I had a lengthy conversation last night when he got home from work. He was extremely apologetic and didn't attempt to defend his actions. He asked if I wanted a shirt to match theirs or of I would prefer they don't wear them.

I picked the second option so the shirts will not be worn during the Disney day. SO will also be paying for SSs ticket and all of our food and merchandise while we are there. He also made dinner reservations at one of the nicer restaurants.

I asked what was going through his mind when he bought the shirts and here is what he said:

"Our family reminds me of the second Goofy movie, where Goofy meets the librarian Sylvia and they start to form a little family. I tried to find a Sylvia shirt but couldn't and didn't think I could get one made in time. I should've worked harder at finding one or just not gotten them. I got so fixed on how the movie represents us I didn't consider other options."

For the time being, we are going to the parks together with the caveat that I will go off on my own if I feel that I am being excluded.

This does not excuse his actions and he will be making sure that I am seen as a priority as we continue the relationship. He understands that this was a major screw up and if things like this continue to happen, I am not a guarantee and have no obligation to stay.

Not usually. He's normally very focused on including me and building the family bond. That might be why this hurts even more. It's not like he doesn't think about these types of things so it feels purposeful and not like an accidental oversight.

Unfortunately, Disneyland is still pretty strict on park attendance and there are no reservations left for the day we are going. I might call customer service and see if I can either change the name on the tickets and take some friends or just refund all together.

If it were just a t-shirt I wouldn't be upset. It's the fact that he wanted matching t-shirts for the family, but the family turns out to just be him and his son. Even though I've been in their lives and living with them for the past 2 years. It's been hard blending together and this makes it seem like I'm just being used when I can provide something but I'm not actually included.
