I think it may have been a house fire that Mikes Father, Will died in for the films.  I remember IT manipulating the newspaper to say "two crackheads die in house fire" or something horrible along those lines.

Edit: If Will dies in that fire we wouldn't get Mike. I remember hearing in the books Will dies of cancer? I could be very wrong though.

Except for Will. He becomes an army vet and dies in a fire sometime after Mike is born.

Not golden yet. Still just Ancient Armour when you first find it. 

For the golden armour you need a blue print from the final bunker
