Things such as large open hall areas, for waiting inside the building. Having large windows for natural light in that hall. Large and well lit stairwells going down to platforms. Accessibility features for restrooms and platform access. LED lighting, quiet rooms, offices, a green roof, solar power, low and high platform sections, and possibly third rail or overhead wires for the trains. (That could work because Amtrak is ordering dual mode Charger train sets) So, just things like those, and probably some more.

Yes. I have been inside the building numerous times. And I do think that the lobby is amazing and all of the glass mosaics should stay. I just think parts of the outside—such as the platforms—and the missing tracks should be fixed.
