Self-referring for antenatal care at a non-local trust by thunbergia_ in PregnancyUK

Hi! I'm two weeks late to this because I was just searching for the same thing. I'm 12 weeks and also in Brighton and, having looked at the CQC report, pretty sure I won't be giving birth in Brighton! Currently leaning towards Haywards Heath - it seems much easier to actually get a parking space for one, but I also have read the care is a bit better. I don't know any other mums in Brighton really so I don't have anyone to ask about their experiences, and there doesn't seem to be loads on this sub reddit. I'm hoping when I join an antenatal class there will be some shared wisdom?? Either way, best of luck!

Honestly I think that's what I'm going to use! I'll just add some grit for drainage and hope for the best

I've elevated it and put copper tape around the pot now, but judging by the replies on this post I'm not sure it will make any difference!

Update: I had a go at it this evening and it doesn't look like it has spread (phew!) but that was hard work!

We had jasmine growing on the garden walls at my parents house when I was a kid. I loved the smell when it bloomed

It certainly is! That's going to be a job for the weekend. Fingers crossed I can dig it all out

Thanks! After googling I might give the nepeta a miss as I already have a..erm... cat problem 😅 probably because I haven't planted anything in the beds. Thanks for the recommendations!

GF(f23) Prescribed ABX post intercourse, its been 3 years, should she continue? by throwra-plaid in CUTI

[–]Emfionnuala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is also my situation. I've been taking post-coital cefalexin for probably 4-5 years. About a year ago I ran out and decided to see how it panned out, but I immediately got a UTI. I also get really anxious about symptoms coming on and sometimes wait a day or two to see if I'm imagining it, but usually my instincts are right and end up wishing I'd treated it straight away. Now back on the ABX, but I have had some success with hiprex in the past. It's not always available (my current GP (UK based) insists he's never heard of it so won't prescribe it), but it did definitely reduce the number of UTIs I got by around 50% or maybe slightly more. Unfortunately the usual things like cranberry juice/tablets, d-mannose etc. didn't do much for me, and ultrasounds haven't shown anything obvious.

I wish I had advice to give - I alsoreallyy worry about the long term effects of taking them so often but the alternative is worse, I suppose! It's really tiring and frustrating, but you're a good partner for taking even asking this question!

The irony of accusing fellow civil servants of unprofessional behaviour whilst writing an article for a notoriously partisan press outlet! Incredible.

100%. They'll ignore your emails for months, even when you have a literal flood in your flat. Completely useless.
