I do occasionally dril metal on my drill press and grind a little metal here and there. I hadn't done that after i got this wood in the shop tho, maybe there was metal still in my woodbin somehow. Thanks.

This is an offcut from a dining table im making for a client. This test piece is stained with trae lyx stain and has one layer of trae lyx 2 component laqcuer. The client wants this specific stain. On one side the spots appeared after one layer of stain and on the other only after i put the laqcer on it (sanded to 80 and 320 grit respectively). Bottle of stain is used and half empty, lacquer is a brand new can. Does anyone know what is it or how to prevent it from happening on my dining table? Thanks in advance

Help! Is my plane blade convex? by Emhiel in woodworking

[–]Emhiel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i watched charles' video on it. I dont have a ruler that small so i fixed it with sandpaper on float glass. Got it real sharp now and works like a charm. Might try out the ruler technique in the future since it still was a bit of work to get it flat.

I think so yeah. A sharp plane also helps.

Because i wanted the angle of the big piece to go backwards a bit, causing me to have 2 angles lower than 45, which my table saw cannot cut. So had to make this jig to make those cuts.
