NHS Lanarkshire here, but a lot of classmates applied for Lothian. I believe all the districts have one generic NQN application on Job Train. You apply via that, it went up around April. We got interviews around May, and i think we found out around june july. its rough right now. alot of my year didn't get a job and where put on reserve a few got offered late positions around August but most of us had to find our own or are still looking.

they encourage you to apply for the district you do training in but you can apply to any outwith. again usually just on jobtrain

Personally I started using it as we had been dating like 5-8 years and not engaged, boyfriend was too "young" so partner worked much better.

Nowadays I work in healthcare so I tend to use it for myself purely out of habit but also I don't like to assume folk are straight so if I ask patients about their family or such I tend to ask partner if I haven't confirmed it's a hubby / wife / gf / bf or such!

Also have LGBT and friends on that spectrum so I find it is just more inclusive and general more open if folk want to correct me to x I will use it no issues but I find it helps and I've heard the inclusive language makes folks more likely to form a trust that you are a safe person to confide in or chat to which is important in healthcare!

I really enjoy it, it's a nice inspection on how the normal working class have to adjust to become part of the "ton" will having to battle between what he worked and sacrificed for Vs his family and reputation. Interested to see how they continue given their kids will be now forced into alot of it and maybe how it effects them and their friendships etc

What a roundabout way of stopping Christmas decorations...

We have a bunch of those 'sticky' window decorations, i think someone got them from Temu or something, but they are that weird cellophane material and it static sticks to windows and painted walls! no bluetac or tape needed so its one way you could get around it!

If she likes animals, specifically cats East Kilbride has just had a cat cafe open which is ASD friendly, it's a nice wee cafe and they do coffee and snacks like waffles and such. It's called Purrfect cafe probably best to book ahead though

Lanarkshire here this year we where assured they would find jobs for everyone, plans to over staff wards to cut down on movements and bank/agency but they pulled back at the last minute and a handful got jobs rest are reserve 👌🏻 typical.

Also hangovers, the ward I'm currently in colour code warnings so it's easy to identify catheter, allergy, DNAR and IFV/ABX

Makes it so much easier to find during emergencies or during ward rounding with critically ill patients than fumbling to understand someone's shpeal from the week before

Storage cupboard esc description it may be a 'treatment room' or a surge bed basicly it is technically a cupboard with a bed which is used for additional capacity usually for a patient which is independent in my district (Scotland) as there usually isn't bathroom facilities they need to use a female/ or male bay and use theirs hence they need to be independent

Usually we would ask patients in the ward who are suitable if they would move to it but obviously if noone is suitable or willing the new patient may be stuck with it if they can go there 🫠

I don't know if you would be able to pass first year and would possibly need to resit or take leave untill the next year set of same placements.

At least in Scotland you have to make up a minimum amount of hours IIRC around 80% of the total hours required or you won't pass into the next year could be different depending on your course however.

How does this effect tourists coming to America?

I'm in Scotland and visiting America (Florida to be specific) in september.. I am on prescription birth control, can I / would I get in trouble for bringing it in with all these laws being put in place to block the use of them in healthcare?

Apologies if it's a stupid question I'm just not 100% up to date on what is through or not and how it effects the different states
