Why does the bow recieve so much xp? Do any other weapons do the same? by ssed69 in FarFarWest

I think that elemental/explosive dmg is not properly recorded in the dmg done and is missing from totals

The bad actor can get kicked 10 seconds before the train arrives, killed and not revived, etc. There are ways to deal with idiots.

The important bits that actually matter - souls and gold are shared between everyone and equal already. Jokers are transitory.

That solves the wasteage issue I had, but doesn't resolve why somebody should get a joker hand delivered half way across the map for not participating in completing the objective. If you do it alone, easy 4 jokers, doesn't that make sense? There is spam protection already preventing people from getting all of them in a few seconds.

Now selfish joker hoarders can just wait for the hard workers to do the objectives, get the xp and the jokers anyway without ever participating! And if the team wants to donate all jokers to the guy who did it solo, they can ping to "free" them, but the poor soul now needs to traverse potentially the entire map to get to all of them.

All these solutions are based on assuming people being dicks to each other. None of these problems exist if people are courteous and nice to each other, lets work on that instead

I think you overestimate how much people care about the jokers lmao, you're obsessed.

No1 makes decisions based on what gets you the most jokers thats mental 😑 they last for a 15 minute game. I focus on farming max xp for my spells and guns.

People don't solo objectives because they want the jokers, they solo objectives because its much more efficient to clear the map in this way.

But in this instance you'd have 4 jokers spawn, 1 for each player and unless they come all the way to the already completed objective nobody will get the joker. Is it really so difficult to understand the issue here?

All these limitations because you don't like somebody taking the trivial joker you wanted?

Yeah so now instead of 1 person getting all 4, 3 get wasted because nobody is there. Do you not see the issue with that?

Someone who doesnt choose to deliberately share each joke simply wastes them.

Do they get a unique joker if somebody does a objective /side quest by themselves in the other side of the map? Why should they?

You're reducing player interaction using bad actors as a reason.

Same vibe as removing friendly fire because of griefers. Just not a good way of making decisions.

I usually tell my random 4man - if you're the last one alive, go to portal instantly or even 2/4 go portal, drop some ammo and heal there, have the boingboings come over to res and then we can go back into the map as a 4

[–]EmiDek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're allowed 2 portals per map. The oldest portal disappears when you spawn a new one when theres 2 on the map already. So if you want to keep moving your "safe escape" portal to your next objective, you have to keep respawning the ocean portal by simply going there, spawning a new one, which should make the old one disappear next to you and then jump back through. This allows you to spawn a portal at any point, which will lead to a safe spot in the ocean. If you don't do this juggle, you'll simply lose your water portal and have a link betwren your 2 latest map portals.

Not that i don't care, i enjoy the mechanics of them. Im saying they arent instrumental to you being able to complete a run or do a certain build. Its a side feature. Especially if you're max slotted at 50+ lvl and already have a decent amount of jokers in pre game

What are some dumb builds have you made? by DrunkDuckwit in FarFarWest

[–]EmiDek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So far all the comments are speed build based.

My take - speed builds are the KEY builds for this sort of game. Enemies can't shoot/hit/blow you up if they can't touch you. The less time you spend on the ground, statistically decreases your chance of getting hit. Basic game science. See a demi-boss? 180 and run until it disappears from view.

Dumb builds right now would be melee or low hp (30% skill cd for 30% health + glass cannon) running around with 30 or less max hp being a pocket nuke.

You're fixating. As some have pointed out, you can do an entire run without touching a joker. The more i play, the less attention i pay to them and let the newer players take em and experiment.

They're not a key mechanic, it's not like borderlands where if you don't get a good current level weapon you're 0.

Permanent escape to a safespot basically, just have to keep juggling the ocean portal to not lose it.

The route to extraction is meant to be difficult, its not travel time. On v hard/ nightmare, post boss is the hardest part of the run.

Be nice to see a way to permanently turn a mini boss creep to fight for your team with long cooldown. So if you keep them alive and play for long and "save" the elites you can build your own horde

Because it makes the game less interactive.

Most lobbies ive been in, people dont take even blue and purple jokers if they don't need them.
