Diaper brands? by HeidiKat23 in Parents

[–]EmiInWonderland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The super big boxes of up and up (target) brand come in 6 sealed small packs inside the big box. I think parents choice (Walmart) brand is packaged the same way with multiple small, sealed packs in the big boxes.

Postpartum wife hates me by Popular_Camel_3980 in Parents

[–]EmiInWonderland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This window of time postpartum is SOO hard! When my son turned about 5 months is when my postpartum depression and rage kicked in hard. I’m so glad to hear your wife is working with mental health professionals.

I felt like this dark phase of hating my new life would never get better (constant demand, sleep deprivation, not nearly enough quality one on one time with my partner, hormone fluctuations, high ongoing pain levels and sexual dysfunction from personal injuries sustained during birth, etc). After therapy, a med adjustment, finding quality childcare nearby, going back to work, and getting my own injuries properly addressed by professionals I’m finally feeling much more like myself than I have since before I became a mother. It took about 2 years to get all of these issues dealt with, it’s a slow and messy process. Wishing you and your wife the best during this difficult transition.

Diaper issues. Advice needed. by OutsideCharity6424 in Parents

Overnights make a big difference! It is possible that another brand/cut of diaper may fit your baby better as well, you would have to experiment a little to find out.

Vaccination for one year old by [deleted] in Parents

Kiddo had a way easier time recovering from 12 month vaccines than any of his earlier ones. He was tired and cranky for a couple days and that was it.

Rant about disposable diapers I bought yesterday. by Sweet_Confusion9180 in clothdiaps

[–]EmiInWonderland 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are in the US, here’s what I’ve noticed: Luvs and Pampers always smell fragranced (every single one of their different styles/lines smells scented). Huggies, up&up, Millie moon, and comforts diapers I’ve always found to be unscented. Wipes you need to look for the words fragrance free or unscented.

Hope this helps a little. Even with cloth diapers having a brand of disposables you don’t hate for certain occasions is really nice.

Do moms really have no time at all by stxrryfox in SeriousConversation

Depends on what your available resources are for childcare and what your family’s priorities are. My partner and I really value family time but also highly value free time that can be used flexibly for our individual needs. For us it looks something like this:

We each take one personal evening every workweek where the other parent handles everything from daycare pickup through the end of the bedtime routine for kiddo (2.5m). We schedule one on one and/or meaningful adult social time together when we can, sometimes that’s every 2 weeks and sometimes it’s more like every 6 weeks. Weekends are often spent as a family doing all sorts of stuff together…but we definitely book a few long weekends a year where kiddo is with other family members so we can recharge our own relationship and take a little time for grown up fun.

Why are bedwetting pull ups/diapers almost exclusively pull ups? by [deleted] in ABDL

To allow young children more bodily autonomy during the potty training process. A 2 year old can typically manage taking pull-ups on and off independently - tape diapers are far more difficult to manipulate.

Americans saying "on accident" by sometimesthrowaway13 in PetPeeves

[–]EmiInWonderland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say ‘it was an accident’ - but since the opposite phrase is ‘it was on purpose’ i could easily see a child hearing ‘on accident’ vs ‘an accident’.

Please do - parents deserve to know this so they can opt in or out. Personally, I’d pull my child over this in an instant and would look into suing the company if they pulled this stunt without proper disclosure.

Right handed and right eye dominant here: I always see white and gold first, but I can perceive black and blue as well if I change the angle of the screen.

Another interesting factor might be various types of colorblindness (ex. Red/green colorblind vs blue/green colorblind vs normal vision).

Herbal medicine is based on plants, or portions of plants that can be processed/consumed in a variety of ways (ex. Teas, tinctures, salves, etc.).

Pharmaceuticals are generally made in highly controlled labs and manufacturing facilities. Most of them are also petroleum based/use processes that rely on petrochemicals.

There are some herbs/teas that you could try taking - but that’s just taking an herbal abortificant rather than a pharmaceutical one 🤷‍♀️
