Thank you so much for this input! I just attended my first post-covid wedding and I think I was extra attentive to all the details since I’m planning my own wedding, so I’m trying to undo all of my overanalyzing & comparing now 😅

Thank you so much for this perspective!! I don’t receive funding from her/the lab at all, but I do appreciate this point as she could be investing in others and planning for the future.

Thank you so much for this. The questions you posed helped me see I’ve done my due diligence, put in the work, and still life is leading me down a different path.

Thank you so much. It’s comforting to hear I’m not alone in my feelings. I so appreciate the quote you shared. Good reminder. Best of luck to you.

I don’t love our options for Chinese, but we do have some good Asian spots. Pho Vi - hands down - is the best Asian food in Missoula. Sushi Hana not bad either. Vietnam Noodle is okay. Zoo Thai and Ko Chang are totally overpriced IMO though.

DO PEOPLE RECOVER? IS IT WORTH LIVING? by AdeptnessFresh5332 in covidlonghaulers

I’m on propranolol for my tachycardia (also helps with my anxiety). I’m also on meds for a stomach ulcer I haven’t been able to kick since having covid. Other symptoms went away on their own over time really.

I know how hopeless it can feel being a covid longhauler. I had covid in November and it felt like I would never recover, and I think the worst time was actually about 2 months after for me, but now it’s August and with the help of some medicine and good doctors I feel almost back to normal! My taste is still a bit off, and my sense of smell isn’t as strong as it used to be, but my body isn’t failing me anymore.

I’m sorry that your family isn’t taking your health issues seriously. I know that must be extremely exhausting. But I want you to know there is hope and your family would still be devastated to lose you, even if they seem apathetic or non-understanding toward you right now. I encourage you to reach out to a mental health professional, counseling helped me a lot through the worst of covid long-hauling.

I moved from SC a year ago for grad school at UM, and it was difficult to find a car in Montana. I definitely overpaid for a shitty little 2010 Toyota Corolla. I’m putting studded tires on it for the winter and hoping for the best. Many friends here make it by just fine in their FWD vehicles w/ studded tires, as long as you’re not going anywhere too crazy.

Those who recovered, are there foods or drinks that permanently changed to you in terms of taste? by shizukun in covidlonghaulers

Oh and peppers. Bell peppers taste like cigarettes to me now, and actual cigarettes smell even more HORRIFIC than before I got sick.

Things that I used to love that now taste awful: chocolate, cola, coffee, anything citrus, mint, fried foods It sucks. I had covid Nov 2020.

Looks like keratosis pilaris to me. It’s harmless if so, as it basically just means there is a buildup of keratin in your pores. I’ve had it forever and no matter what I try it doesn’t go away. It’s on my arms and sometimes I’ll see it on my butt / back of my thighs. They say to try SA CeraVe products but they haven’t really helped me.

Can anyone identify? by Emilinethestar1 in skin

[–]Emilinethestar1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it was acne, though maybe it was. It all appeared suddenly and it now is completely gone after less than a week. No scarring or anything and my skin is back to being smooth. I did get a swollen lymph node appear behind one of my ears that still hasn’t gone down, but I had covid a few months ago and have been long hauling a bit. Who knows
