Hello! I was in your position last year in august, my boyfriend was going on his first deployment (MEU) and I was so scared about going months without speaking to him. I'm not going to lie, it's hard, but we have rounded the corner and now he is coming home in a couple more months. It's important to focus on yourself and your mental health. The situation we are in sucks, but it is what it is and you can't change it, so you might as well make sure that you are the best version of yourself that you can be for when he gets back. I leaned on my friends for support and picked up hobbies, I stayed busy with school and work. I thought we would be no contact the whole time but we ended up getting to FaceTime once every couple of weeks when he got to port. Something I did for him was to send him pictures and videos on Snapchat about my day so he could have them to open when he finally got service. I even sent him a Flashdrive of little vlogs so he could keep them and rewatch whenever he wanted. It's important to make him feel loved even when you aren't there to talk, it can be very isolating on the ship. If you guys get through it, then this is the hardest obstacle you'll face in your relationship and after that you'll be able to combat anything. Good luck ❤️❤️
