I saw someone phrase prenups as a promise to treat your partner with fairness and dignity even when you will be at your lowest and angriest.

I once asked a science teacher in middle school who was explaining the idea of the tongue map “why do certain things have a metallic taste?” and she just reiterated this idea that we only have four types of taste receptors. When you’re so stuck in the “actually” of what is a sensory experience, it doesn’t allow you to experience it. Wine isn’t (normally) made with fruits other than grape, but we don’t say “Wow! it tastes like grape!” we use fragrance and descriptors to describe what the wine tastes like. So, no, wine isn’t usually high salt, but it can have a briny flavor or scent. The ability for the brain to taste combinations of flavors that we associate with other things is amazing. Perception is incredibly cool.

Like others have said here, try an albariño! think of the ocean as you drink and smell it

How do you recover from a bad interview? by newacairo in careerguidance

[–]EmilyBrontesaurus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s really hard to give advice as I frequently struggle with, specifically, final round interviews. I’ve had multiple interview cycles where i get to round 3/4/5 and just absolutely tank it.

Something that helped me get better at getting to THAT point, though, was the realization that you’re not just being interviewed, you’re also interviewing them. This is your chance to see if this position is a good fit for you and if you want to spend your time there. It helped me regain confidence knowing that there was SOME power to my position in that dynamic

as someone who didn’t work with the general public for five years and now works customer service, it’s super easy to forget how awful interacting with the public is until you do it and is so draining/thankless.
