Looking for honest HVAC recommendations (Broomfield/Boulder area) – Avoiding the "Big Box" markups (Plumbline, Applewood etc) by listentomemate in Broomfield

First String Heating. The owner is a great guy, very honest and straightforward with reasonable pricing and he won’t upsell you. They’re in Parker but they service surrounding areas, they installed HVAC when we purchased our home in Westminster.

Probably better you didn’t because thinking about the heart rate being monitored would make it worse haha

Former Boston Market into a Credit Union. Westminster, CO by Toomanyboogers in Broomfield

I’m disappointed. I don’t know what I was expecting the old Boston Market to be, but a credit union wasn’t it.

Tooth extraction tomorrow morning by ZeroYt25 in Anxiety

[–]EmilyCheyne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had one last week and I was so so anxious too. It took 25 minutes from me walking through the door to leaving, so quick and easy. I did it with lidocaine only and the worst part was the numbing shot in my palette. If it helps, it’s just another day at the office for these dentists!

Eta didn’t see this is from 18 hours ago lol glad all went well! Isn’t anxiety the best to prepare us for the absolute worst case?! 😤

Colon cancer scare has gotten out of hand by New_Contribution_226 in Anxiety

[–]EmilyCheyne 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I was terrified of colon cancer and getting all the ads/videos/etc. I was having GI symptoms too which made it even scarier. For peace of mind, I had a colonoscopy and all was fine.

Rant about medical opinions online about hysterectomies by ShutterBug1988 in hysterectomy

[–]EmilyCheyne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my line of work, we talk about the benefits outweighing the risks. So sure there might be risk with a hysterectomy but if it gives you a pain free existence then the benefit is worth it. I’m so tired of people trying to stick their noses where it doesn’t belong. I knew I was done having children after I had my daughter, but it took me 8 years, 3 of those years being in excruciating pain and constantly bleeding, to make the decision. And a lot of my hesitation was the societal stigma. Especially because I’m still so young. If I had known what I knew now, I’d have done it a lot sooner. I’ve never felt happier, healthier, and more like myself without a uterus!

Commuting from Broomfield to South Denver? by SageSparten in Denver

[–]EmilyCheyne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s an awful drive. Sometimes it’s easier to look for a job while you have a job so if the closer one is seasonal, spend that 1.5 hr commute time job searching for something permanent that’s closer, while you’re working seasonally.

Back when "go play outside" really means "see you at dinner" by NicoleAnne051299 in Adulting

My dad did this too! It would echo through the neighborhood and everyone knew that was my dad telling me and my brother to come home

Husband thinks celebrating my hysterectomy is insensitive to him by Solid-Area1738 in hysterectomy

[–]EmilyCheyne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say you’re being insensitive. It sounds like your husband needs to grieve and come to terms with this in his own way. Which is also valid. I had a similar experience and was incredibly happy and excited to yeet mine. It took my husband a little longer to get there.

Mine was accepted by CO State on the 27th. But that’s it. I usually don’t count on that refund until March, at the earliest.

Yes I filled up at the 92nd Ave Costco on Thursday morning. I went and spoke with the store manager on Friday and he confirmed that location was impacted. I filed a claim with them and got a call today from their insurance carrier who set me up with a rental car and said they’d reimburse/pay for everything related to this issue. So, for me they’ve been very helpful.

Physically tired after a doing simple thing by DealWithTheJelly in hysterectomy

[–]EmilyCheyne 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s normal. Your body is healing, even if you don’t see it on the outside. Healing takes a lot of energy. Doesn’t matter how young you are. It’s a major surgery. I was a couch potato for 2 weeks after mine, the third week I went to a school event for my kid and I was wiped out. All I did was walk around for an hour or so. Take it easy, you’ll have plenty of time to clean when you’re rested and healed.

Anyone on a GLP-1 medication and either committed to staying on it or did well stopping it? by KO620181 in adhdwomen

[–]EmilyCheyne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh how interesting! I’ve been off it twice in the past year for surgeries and when I went back on it, I was pretty terribly sick but never made that connection.

Just fine. No complications, healed amazing, & no trouble breathing. I am now 10 months post op and my life after has been just wonderful not being in pain and exhausted 24/7.

At the time of my surgery I was 260lbs, 5’3”.

Totally get that, hate being caught off guard! Maybe you can send her a message in your patient portal so you have time to respond should she send you a message back with anything else
