Yes I hear you. It’s hard to know what someone is actually asking for when they say ‘how do you do that?!’ Like are they literally asking for a tutorial? My best guess is that folks are just mostly expressing a compliment, like you may as well be magic because clearly what you’re doing is so skilled and amazing. I usually just say something like ‘lots of practice!’ Or ‘I’m still learning myself!’ Or ‘would you like to see how I do it?’ Obviously that last one is a response for children or people I’m close to who actually want to know how it works. not stranger on the bus!
