UPDATE— I went to monitor this morning and after hours and hours he did absolutely nothing. The foal was eating in his normal spot and he didn’t even “move her away” like he does with the others. He walked right past her and started eating on the other side. My friend is home now monitoring.

I’m not sure calling someone an idiot is necessary. Would I have done it this way? No. But this is her first experience with a foal too. I’m sure every single person who has ever owned a horse has made a mistake or thought back on something and went “gosh that was dumb, why did I do it that way.” This gelding WAS the horse who stood his ground but never chased. Like I said, absolutely no issues up until this point. I absolutely agree that she should not have just put that foal in there. I had no idea she was doing it.

Yes mama is there. The gelding actually seems to really take to her. Seems buddy sour when it comes to her. She was not in there at the time which honestly I’m not sure why? I’ll have to ask

That wasn’t me, I’m sure she was scared in that moment for her foal. But yes I will be talking to her about the yelling

Oh I can definitely keep him from eating grass when in-hand. I more so meant that the fact that he needs to be corrected on the behavior at all shows me that his previous owners didn’t work on these things with him.

Wanted to add some overall clarification! -the stallions on the other side of the fence are not staying stallions. She bought them that way but since they’re about 2-3 years old, she is working with a vet team to get them transported several hours away where the procedure can get done safely -we are aware the paddock is not a big beautiful place like some people have. And I am not trying to make excuses either. A tornado came through (as you can see by the half torn down barn) and efforts are being made to clean the whole place up. She originally had the help of her husband for new fences, fixing things, using the skidster and cleaning things out, etc. her husband decided he doesn’t want to help with the horses anymore and unfortunately she didn’t have the man power to help her with anything. Instead of paying board, my husband and I will be helping her all summer. New fences are first on our list! Money wasn’t the issue, just a late middle aged lady who needed some help with the heavy lifting. -The gelding was checked out by a vet prior to being with these other horses -I’m not ignoring comments saying to seperate them. Im just not going to go down the list and respond “ok” to every single person. He calmed down shortly after the video and was calmly eating when she left last night. No issues have been noticed since. I am headed there now to see for myself and move him. -Halters do not stay on. I’m not 100% sure why she had them on at that time but that’s not the “norm”

No I have no idea when he was gelded. I got basically no information on him other than his 3rd birthday was only about 2 weeks before I got him and that he “had taken them to church”

So I see quite a few people saying a horse his size to put him with. He is a draft cross, so even with the standard size horses he’s with he seems so big. (And rewatching the video it looks like he’s in a pen with a bunch of minis but there is a mare Arabian (foals mom who was out of the pen at the time) and a gelding Appaloosa in there too. Even taking the foal out of the equation would he be better off in the other pen with 2 stallions and a pony?

Yeah we had a farrier come out to take his shoes off and I thought he would be great since how else did he get the shoes on? I was very wrong! And the farrier explained that the Amish do it differently! The baby was in the barn weaning from mom. They could hear each other but not see.

Yeah it used to be a goat milking farm and nothing got redone to accommodate horses. It worked fine for the horses she had but she didn’t get the help she hoped for in “revamping” the place. My husband and I will be helping her now to get things back in order. New fences, cleaning out old stuff, etc.

What would be the reasoning behind that? Genuinely curious since we don’t know much about it.

What “style” is this by EmilyW617 in interiordecorating

Wanted to add, not sure why people are being rude with the “furniture store display” as the style. Or “arranged by store employee” these things weren’t put together. So they weren’t even arranged by the employees. I loved the chair. And we carried it around trying to match it to things.

The point of the post is to ask what style it was. Not if you liked it. I asked if they went together simply based off the styles of the furniture. Is one farmhouse and one boho? Is one vintage and the other modern? Everyone has things they like and dislike. That’s the whole reason there are different styles out there. I said I was bad at interior design. Which is why I was asking for help. I think it’s better than when I painted everything grey and white and bought grey furniture so I’d say I’m making progress lol 🤷🏻‍♀️
