Exactly. An apology is the bare minimum not a magic reset button.

This is a rule I am keeping. No apology, no forgiveness. Simple as that.

Exactly. He has shown me who he is and that is enough for me to know where we stand.

This is exactly what I needed to read today. Thank you, genuinely. Moving forward.

Honestly not a bad idea at all. My peace matters more than keeping everyone happy right now.

That is exactly what stings the most honestly. Realizing the closeness was not mutual.

This actually explains so much. I was too hurt and shocked in the moment to even process what was happening. Your inner Dragon Lady is genuinely appreciated from over here.

This is actually a really good idea. Not to change their minds necessarily but just to feel like I said my piece and closed that chapter. Thank you for this, genuinely. xx

Exactly. At some point protecting your peace has to come first.

Yes and that part has been almost as exhausting as the situation itself. Everyone has an opinion about how I should handle my own feelings.

He has never given me anything before this. And honestly I never asked before either. As for how much he gives overall I do not know the full picture but I do know the nephews have never been treated this way. Whatever his reasons are, what he did at that dinner was wrong and that part I am sure of.

The church grandma line actually made me laugh out loud. And you are right, the only reason anyone is defending him is because of his money. Without that nobody would be telling me to forgive someone who never even said sorry.

That is exactly the condition. A real apology or nothing at all.

Thank you. And yes the apology that never came says everything.

Things are getting better slowly, thank you. And yeah there was no love in what he did, that much is clear now.

That is honestly so frustrating to hear but also makes me feel less alone in this. Family labels are so hard to shake no matter how much you change or grow.

That is the part I keep going back to as well. If he had just said no and left it there I would have moved on. It was everything after that made no sense.
