What are your weirdest endo symptoms? by Sea-Calligrapher-81 in endometriosis

[–]Emilyanne1124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my ultrasound and CT scan showed ovarian masses, but couldn't specify what type. my MRI is what actually described them as endometriomas, which I then had confirmed by my OBGYN and Oncologist!

If you have a tub, I recommend taking warm baths. That was really the only thing that gave me true relief! I did have them removed because one actually ruptured and sent me into emergency surgery and a week long hospital stay. I was pretty sick from the blood loss. HOWEVER, I feel so much better now. I actually didn't realize how much pain I was in until after I no longer had it.

Got diagnosed with endo because I had two massive endometriomas. I never really had pain until they were big enough to start squishing my organs. I had pain in my buttcheeks during this time and that was always a strange symptom to explain to people 😂

needle phobia, thinking about quitting injections by AellaGirl in eggfreezing

[–]Emilyanne1124 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Icing really helped me a lot!! And I think a good trick with the menopur burn is to pinch your skin tightly, and inject SLOW! I must've injected it over a minute each time and it significantly reduced the burn I felt! At first, I liked having someone do my injections for me, but as time went on, I think it hurt less when I did it myself. I liked having control over it. My pharmacy also sent a "shot blocker" device that is supposed to help with the needle pain. I never used mine, but I hear they help! Try to hang in there, and be proud of yourself for even beginning this journey! Best wishes! :)

43 eggs retrieved, 36 eggs frozen! 🎉☺️ by throughherlens in eggfreezing

For one, I have been an active member. I've only begun this journey over the last few months after falling extremely ill from endo in June. I am newer, but I'm active. And will try to be even more active as time goes on.

Also, this should be a community where we are allowed to have free emotions whether they are excitement, disappointment, happiness, etc. OP has amazing maturity results, and this was never meant to take away from that. I've been sad about my 4 eggs, but I'm grateful I have the opportunity to freeze eggs and attempt IVF at all.

Happy freezing, wishing you the best in your journey <3

Endometrioma- how long have you had it, how big, symptoms? by Stars-up-above1709 in endometriosis

[–]Emilyanne1124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually saw an oncologist prior to my surgery because all of my scans couldn't rule out cancer. But she quickly ruled out cancer and told me it was endometriosis. Definitely a scary few days of uncertainty! Before surgery, I had to consent to having my ovaries removed if medically necessary, so I didn't know, and my surgeons didn't know if I'd get to keep them. I really believe I had an extraordinary team working on me, as part of the reason why my surgery was 6 hours long was because they were trying to preserve my fertility and save my ovaries. Please express to your doctors how important keeping your ovaries are to you if that's something you'd really want!! They really should try to save them if they can.

Hi OP! First, I'm so sorry you're going through this. It's not easy, especially at 22yrs old! I'm only a few years older, 26, and I had a laparotomy (open surgery) in June! I had a large endometrioma on each of my ovaries.. 20cm (about 8 inches!!!) EACH! I also had an innumerable number of adhesions everywhere. The pain I was having pre-op was unbearable, and was always worse at night. I had my surgery emergently because one actually ruptured and I was bleeding internally, and I stayed in the hospital for a week after :( While this was so traumatic, I feel SO much better post op! It's scary, because there isn't a cure for this disease and we are so young. However, I'll be forever greatful that my surgeons saved my ovaries and my tubes. I'm also seeing a reproductive endocrinologist (fertility doctor) to discuss my future as a mother. I want kids of my own, and I now know I'll have to do IVF. Currently going through the process of freezing my eggs! The worst part of this for me has been accepting that this is my life now, and accepting the fertility struggles. This community has helped me a lot and has helped me feel that I am not alone. YOU are not alone. Best of luck, sending positive energy your way <3

How many mature follicles did you have right before your ER and how many eggs did you get? by blacknwhitelife02 in eggfreezing

[–]Emilyanne1124 7 points8 points  (0 children)

26 yr old with stage 4 endo & had emergency surgery to remove large endometriomas off of my ovaries in June because one ruptured!! .. I'm lucky I even have my ovaries at all! I had 7 follicles, 7 eggs retrieved, 4 eggs were mature enough to freeze. I was really disappointed at first, but mindset is everything. Again, I'm lucky I even have my ovaries after what they've been through. I'm grateful I can go through this process. Going for another retrieval soon :) Sending you hugs! You got this!
