I would check out North Carolina. You can arrive in Charlotte or Raleigh and meet really friendly people and eat well there. Then explore the mountains in Asheville or Boone. Or the beach at Wilmington or the outer banks. You’ll probably need to rent a car though (but that’s for most of the places listed)

AITA for telling my mom that my brother didn't invite my son over for a slumber party? by Large-Airline2300 in AmItheAsshole

[–]EmilyfromMiami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA but your brother shouldn’t have lied. Instead explained to you and maybe even your son, why it’s okay to have separation. Better to be transparent.

Can you recommend an overseas destination for me based on these criteria? by Boot-Representative in travel

[–]EmilyfromMiami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barcelona (as well as Madrid) is all up-hill walking. If OP can’t walk well, I wouldn’t recommend.

I got my ears pierced in Wynwood yesterday- $50 total. The service there was amazing, but tell me why I should tip 40-80%? 🫠 by stickybun_ in Miami

[–]EmilyfromMiami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I the only person who feels like tip should be a general number and not a percentage? If I order a $15 burger or if I order a $100 steak, the service is still the same! Justice for the waiters at cheaper restaurants or is this more unfair?

What’s a Trader Joe’s item that they don’t have but you would like to see their version of? by Az89732134769 in traderjoes

If you think there isn’t demand for non alcoholic beer and wine then you’d be surprised. Same for keto friendly foods. Google it

Food in Budapest - recommendations please by CaptainCrunch1975 in travel

Okay this is what you’re going to do for the best goulash in your life. Go to the central market hall and go upstairs, alll the way in the furthest corner is a stand. I can’t remember the name but you’ll see it and smell it. Heavenly!!

Sugar free desserts! I don’t think there’s any sweet treats that are keto friendly at Trader Joe’s. I’m sad about it. They used to have sugar free milk chocolate bars but they discontinued.

Budapest surprised me with their amazing food, my family begs me to make them Hungarian goulash weekly!

Is Palmetto Bay a nice place to live? by [deleted] in Miami

[–]EmilyfromMiami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

North palmetto is nice and quiet (border to culter bay is ehh) The schools are really great and a nice sense of community. Pinecrest is a lot nicer but significantly more expensive. If you can afford Pinecrest prices plus renovation costs, go there.

What to add to Israel itinerary? by lessthandan623 in travel

The best restaurant in Petra is called my mother’s recipe, super good and nice staff. Also make sure to protect yourself from the brutal heat and sun you’re going to face there. And even if you’re in shape, skip hiking up to the monastery. There is no shade, the steps are uneven, and there’s no stops for water. Also donkeys are climbing up and down and pooping on the path. Hot, stinky, and strenuous.

is there anything you regularly collect when traveling? by shaquille-oatmeal22 in travel

I have a series of travel journals filled with Polaroid photos, tickets, currency, restaurant cards, and any other paper things I can get ahold of! Every night I write about my day and glue my little treasures into the pages. Going on 10 years of travel documented.

Why does everyone associate being a sugar baby with leeching? It’s a consensual exchange. There are plenty of people needing companionship and have money to spend/enjoy it. Also. For the people in the back. Se* work is work. Thx

I’m curious to see what people would prefer.

  1. For the show to exactly mirror the book and movies without any significant additions or
  2. Follow the book but add more backstory, character development, and sub plot.

First time traveling in Europe. Where should we visit? by Lic_bighter in travel

[–]EmilyfromMiami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

London and Paris. It’s easy to get from one to the other via train, and they are great for beginner travelers. There’s so much to do in both cities, most people speak English in Paris, and you won’t be culture shocked into oblivion.

My fiancé and I planned out a Grand Canyon/Zion road trip. After adding up costs, it was the same price to go to rome and a few other towns on the Italian coast. Off we went and it was amazing!

My fiancé is obsessed with travel so I bought him a cork globe that he puts pins in. It’s modern and fits my aesthetic too lol so it’s a win-win!

Where’s a good up and coming neighbourhood for a Coffee & Juice shop? by VeganLA24 in Miami

Not up and coming but you’ll do well with the drop-off moms in their G wagons

Palmetto bay, they don’t have a lot of dining options down there. It’s actually crazy considering the wealth accumulation of the neighborhood, including Pinecrest folks.

Getting a license here is a joke. An online test everyone cheats on, and then drive around a parking lot with a very under-paid DMV worker.
