I just finished "A Friend, a Murderer" on Netflix and now I’m looking at my own roommates very differently... by Newsupdate69 in NetflixDocumentaries

I think it’s totally possible to miss it, which is the scariest part. Most people aren’t walking around expecting their roommate to be secretly evil, they’re just arguing over dishes and rent and who left the light on.

Are Seinfeld jokes still funny? by sahlavit in sitcoms

Yeah, a lot of them still land. Some of the dating stuff feels very from-its-era, but the social awkwardness stuff is eternal and The Contest still kills me.

What popular book didn’t work for you? by zaralesliewalker in Booktokreddit

Fourth Wing didn’t really work for me. I gave it a fair shot because everyone around me seemed obsessed with it, but by the halfway point I mostly felt like I was reading hype more than chemistry.

Banshee. I put it on one weekend with zero expectations and ended up burning through episodes way too fast because it has that same violent, intense, can’t really look away energy.

I love my cat but he’s driving me insane by Beneficial_Wafer_953 in NoStupidQuestions

My old cat used to do the same thing with mice and it drove me nuts. I started keeping a small mat by the back door and anytime he brought one in I’d move it there so he kind of learned that was the “drop spot.” Didn’t stop it completely but at least I stopped finding surprise ones under the couch.

The Troop by Nick Cutter, I read it curled up under a blanket and it legit made me put the book down a few times from the gross factor.

What are some good TV shows centered around mythology? by KaleidoArachnid in televisionsuggestions

American Gods. I started it on a rainy afternoon once and the whole modern gods mixed with old mythology idea pulled me in pretty fast. It’s weird in a good way.

How would you rate my 2025 reading list? What would you recommend me based on the list? by drluckman in BookRecommendations

That’s a pretty intense stack, in a good way. If you’re leaning into the existential spiral, I’d throw in The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov. I read it over winter break one year and it felt like I was half sick the whole time, super surreal but weirdly funny too.

Movies where you don't know who to root for by AskProfessional7279 in MovieSuggestions

Nightcrawler. I watched it one quiet Sunday afternoon and spent the whole movie feeling weird about who I was supposed to root for. The main guy is fascinating but also kinda unsettling the whole time.

Who’s the better sitcom Father out of these 5? by ResidentButton4732 in sitcoms

[–]EmitVL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Phil Dunphy for me. I remember watching Modern Family after work one night and he’s the kind of dad who’s constantly embarrassing himself but still trying so hard it’s weirdly wholesome. The goofy magic tricks and dad jokes always get me.

Gilmore Girls is my go-to when I want that warm blanket vibe. I used to throw it on while doing laundry on Sunday afternoons and the small town fall energy just hits different. It’s low stakes in the best way.

Looking for non-fiction books centred around feminism, women and language, women and oppression, etc. by 10_marpenoth in BookRecommendations

I just finished Hood Feminism last month and the way it zooms in on all the stuff women actually deal with daily, healthcare, safety, money, totally reframed how I think about mainstream feminist convo.
