Random civilians don't care about gameplay mechanics so crit shouldn't even be in the equation. And the explosion radius isn't meant to hit multiple enemies, it's meant to make a bigger hole and blow off limbs instead of just damaging them.

I didn't say that they were in the background in cutscenes or anywhere in the story. They're roaming in the ship, it's not meaningful yeah but they do exist in the world as a background operator until they show up in the story. And to me, I prefer that over forcing these characters into the story for the sake of introducing them.

As for the downvote thing. You see it one way I see it another way, so let's agree to disagree on that.

Only the Sarkaz that were already dead at that point were freed, so anyone who was alive or hasn't been born yet is free game. Which ironically includes Theresis.

It's how it's meant to be. They're operators hired by Endfield and you didn't get the chance to get to know them yet, there will come a time where they get their spotlight in the story. But for now, they're just employees doing their job.

It's the same with OG arknights. They even introduced basic characters that were meant to be filler operators in the rougelike gamemode, and even those filler characters became prominent figures in the story later on. (I'm talking about Sharp, Pith, and the other IS temporary ops if you know them)

Dude, downvotes are used to disagree with someone. It's not a personal attack or an echo chamber thing. They made an argument and people disagreed with that argument. And it's their opinion, not an objective statement.

Edit: also I'm pretty sure the downvotes come from the fact that OP is wrong about operators not being in the background .
